It is an interesting time to be alive and last week gave me a surprise that I never would have expected. I have written quite a lot about trading lately, and what I believe is important is to stick to the plan. And that is why I decided to power down some Steem (before the fork), and as a result, I am also powering down some Hive. I don't have very much, but some. Do you know why I powered down? Even though I enjoy the passive income by staking it, I have noticed that with some trading, I could earn some more.
So, while I keep most of my tokens at the platform, I have powered some down for trading. I have sold and bought Hive tokens and had quite a lot of fun doing so. And guess what a boost it was when I bought some Hive tokens last week at 1550 Sats, and then suddenly saw it boost to 1850. That was 20% at once... I sold. And then came a power-down with some more tokens... I sold at 2500 Sats... And I was happy! But, then came the shock - Hive just kept pumping. It reached 5000 Sats, 7000 Sats, 8000 Sats, and the peak now is 12500 Sats (at Bittrex). That is just crazy!
Am I really sad now?
Do you remember what I said about planning your trading and sticking to the plan? My plan is to keep most of my tokens, but keep some tokens out for trading. As a result, the overall value of my Hive tokens has increased greatly, which makes me super happy!
That is why it is important to stick to the plan. Don't sell all, that can cause lots of regrets!
And then comes the other part - the tokens I actually sold were sold with a plus of 20%-50%. That is an awesome increase. Of course, it could have been 600%, but I had no way of knowing. Instead, I decide to be happy and rejoice in the fact that I did a successful trade.
If the Hive price still remains this high when my next power down comes (in 2 days), I will sell that quickly (like many others out there I guess who is waiting for tokens to power down), but still - my main portion of the wallet remains here, ready to write, blog, vote, curate, and have a great time at this promising platform.
Are you trading Hive tokens, or are you just holding?
I would love to hear from you. Are you keeping your tokens, or are you trading in these days?
Just promise me one thing - do not buy tokens with fresh FIAT in these days! The price will for sure dump, most likely tomorrow. Hopefully, it will not go back to the old prices, but it will for sure go down compared to where it is right now.
The Easter bunny has been good in 2020
I know we are sad and slightly depressed because of coronavirus. But don't forget about the kindness of the Easter bunny in 2020. I have approximately 3000 Steem tokens, which means I got 3000 Hive tokens in the airdrop. Today, that is valued at almost 3000 USD. Isn't that a fantastic gift? Of course, it isn't liquid, so I cannot sell it, but still - what a gift!
What is the conclusion?
Be grateful, follow your plan, and trade wisely!
This is a Hive original article, only published on the Hive chain. It is posted in Project Hope, with the @ph-fund set as a beneficiary!
TwitterDo not forget to write a comment and to share your thoughts on the topic. Have you sold any Hive tokens? Are you holding them forever? If you write a comment, you might even get rewarded as a result of the #posh project here on #Hive. I even mentioned this article on
A wise man in late 2017 said: "If you have some debts to pay, now it would be good time to sell crypto. Or, at least, it is much better than take credit to buy crypto". I think that the same wisdom could be applied to the latest Hive pump.
Absolutely!! Do you have any liquid Hive yourself? Seems as if you have been building wisely in the last year on Steem, and now you got this awesome Hive airdrop as a plus gift!!:)
Speaking about issues of Hive (or Steem) liquidity for those who can't afford long powerdowns, what is your opinion on services like dLease?
I don't know much about it, but if you don't use the platform, but want to earn passively, dLease seems reasonable and useful. But, personally, I like controlling my investments myself, and not leasing them out to 3-parts :)
Talk about timing!
Wow.
Right. I wrote a similar post - to stay out of emotions during such volatile price action (can swing either ways).
Glad to see the "grateful" part. We are all in this together! :)
Yes, we absolutely are!! Thanks for dropping by!
Lol you will never catch the top of any run so don’t feel bad! Be thankful you got value out
That is my plan as well! Of course, it would have been nice to be closer to the top, but still - one should never be ungrateful for a 50% gain in such a short time!
Lol exactly 50% gain is not something you’ll get Easy in this world
That for sure :)
