Had a chance to take some portraits of my niece while we were in Panglao last Friday. We stayed at a private one bedroom villa, it was supposed to be our wedding anniversary celebration but since we have our baby Matti with us, we decided to bring along the niece too so they can bond and she can look after him whenever needed.
She was cool with it because she loves swimming in the pool too and the private villa had a pool and a jacuzzi. I will talk about the private villa in the next article. For now, allow me to share some of my niece's impromptu portraits. I just asked her to do this and that and snapped her pictures.
We started at the kitchen area, there were native accessories at the kitchen, those were a hat and a round rice winnower. The one below was at the living room area where another native accents were placed.
This one below was at the dining area, we took the table out and just used the chair instead. There's yet another native accent hanging on the wall here. Zaila turned 12 this month, she's now a young lady, she loves playing online games but she is also into art. She draws on her iPad.
We headed outside where the jacuzzi was located. I let her sit on the edge and asked her to play with the water but she's shy and said she is not confident. I told her just be natural and this smile below was the result.
I can't believe this baby is now becoming a young lady, time flies so quickly. The lsat time that I took portraits of her was last year on her 11th birthday and now, it's already a year. She had moved on from being a very talkative one to a more reserved lady. She loves her time alone these days and would often be just facing her iPad.
