Films soundtracks #1 - The Yakuza (1974)

Hello to everyone. 😁🖐

Two of my great passions are: movies and music. So what better than to mix both?
I decided to start this series of posts with the aim of sharing with you movie soundtracks, which I consider very good.

For this initial post, I chose the 1974 film "The Yakuza", directed by Sidney Pollack, with original music composed by Dave Grusin.   IMDB

Frame of the film

Whenever I can, I will leave you a link so you can download the full soundtrack.
In this occasion I didn't get a link, but you can look for it in Soulseek that surely you will find it (I have to make another post talking about Soulseek, an excellent program to download music).

But don't think I'm going to leave you empty handed, here is the opening credits theme:

The film is partly set and shot in Japan, and deals with issues of the culture there. This is well represented in the tone of the music, which is also somewhat mystical.

The musician Lee Ritenour (famous jazz/funk guitarist, friend of Dave Grusin) worked on the soundtrack, and you can hear him in the song above.

The film is good. It has good staging, good photography, it's entertaining, the actors are good (it stars Robert Mitchum), and what matters most in this post 😆: the music is very good.  I clarify that all this is my opinion.

I hope you liked it or found it interesting, and if not, it doesn't matter, because soon I will be sharing with you more soundtracks, and surely you will like some of them.

A hug for everyone!
