Have you ever listened to Alice in Chains Unplugged?

On July 30, 1996, Have you ever listened to Alice in Chains Unplugged?, Alice in Chains' Unplugged album was released, in my opinion second only to that of Nirvana. For those unfamiliar with them, the band consisted of 4 members

  • Bass: Mike Inez

AIC are part of that vein of music called grunge, a rock current but sad at the same time, with hard arrangements that alternate with melancholic arpeggios. The grunge reference band is Nirvana but many other bands have followed this musical current, such as the same AIC, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots and many others.

The characteristic of Unplugged recordings is the use of acoustic instruments and consequently an arrangement of the softer pieces. And so that songs like Nutshell, Down in A Hole but a bit all the pieces take on a sweet, melancholic, sad shade ... And it's a bit of the feeling you feel throughout the live, consisting of 13 tracks.

I advise you to listen to these songs in an environment without annoying noises or sounds ... Every single track must be well understood musically, every single note must be metabolized. It is necessary to understand that the chords are the result of strong experiences that have influenced the life of the band members.

Unfortunately, Unplugged will be one of the last performances of singer Layne Staley, in full struggle against heroin addiction, although he has supported an excellent performance on stage, and unfortunately victim of the same 6 years later, on April 5, 2002, exactly 8 years after the death of Kurt Cobain.

A great concert, an album, a great band.

Hi Layne, wherever you are.

Bro, im really down each time i listen layne here, knowing this was one of his last concerts and even tough hes fucking incredible. And lol i was listening "FROGS" when i saw your posts.

I really miss layne and chris :(

an Incredible loss to rock music, such a melancholy but thoughtful voice .... I have listened to this concert thousands of times and never got bored

This unplugged makes me really sad every time I listen to it. I saw that the band after his AIC album (the one with a dog with 3 feet cover) they went on hiatus for a while and Staley addiction got worse and it shows on this show (if you watched the concert, obviously). He doesn't look well at all. It's really heavy everything of the context about this. Nevertheless, a really great show of a really great band! One of my favourites of all time. RIP Layne.

Yes, this I think was their last live and Layne is obviously under the influence of something ... In a couple of songs she forgets the words ... Really a big void in my musical life ... I have not followed the band anymore with the new singer

Oh the stuff with William Duvall is pretty decent. They have very good songs in some of the albums, I recommend you the last two specifically

Nice post. Just remember to add a link for the image source
