RE: What Being a Musician Means To Me

in Musicforlife 🎶4 years ago

My personal life, work-life, and art career really did add some complexities to the mix

And now you shall add HIVE to that mix. When you are not careful, you'll be spending hours and hours in our community with some part of that time somewhere else in crypto space. HIVE (well, Steem before) was and still is my bridge into the big pool of total chaos crypto space actually is. But it's a lot of fun! :)

I think as more time goes on, the type of music people will listen to will continue to change and evolve and I believe more instrumental music will take off.

Music preferences changes with generations, that's clear. Now the 'mass' is attending all these dance parties, I think indeed this may be a driver for more instrumental music. Though the dance music for the mass 'EDM' uses a lot of vocals, I suppose to appeal to the mass, to give them something to sing along or something.

I was always drawn to instrumental, whether it was the well-know Vangelis, or Jean Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk, or many of the movie soundtracks (modern classical I call it), or the techno music that was born back in the early 80s in Detroit.

I do hope you can find the time to spend more on what you really seem to want: Create music! It's easy to create time; Just ditch anything that became a 'normal' in your life while it doesn't contribute to feeling happy. Easier said than done, I know :)
