Dude, this is an incredible post and some great advice in there! Was not expecting such a badass post from our little chat in the comments on my intro so this is brill! All the points are valuable learning experiences shared and that's so awesome about playing live when you went to Steemfest! Hopefully live performances will pick up again as soon as possible!
Thanks so much for the suggestion, I started writing an intro post, and very quickly I had flashbacks of my first times on the platform, and thought it would be great to add few tips, and eventually it turned quickly into an entire post haha.
Hopefully live performances will pick up again as soon as possible!
That sure was a cool way to include me in your advice blog, Ed. I should probably come up with a more sincere sounding thank you but that's another thing that's difficult on the blockchain—sincerity vs. satire.
Thank you THIS
Much❗️
(That's better)
A lot of useful tips here I'll be recommending and I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks I'm talking to an ally.
For me, you are the best example on how HIVE transform and pimp people, and make them a better person all around. Not that you were a shitty individual, you actually had a good head start, but the way you adapted to this place is really heart warming. Now let me go check if you posted yet.
You sure know how deliver when I say, "if you're gonna say nice things like that, keep'em comin!
Thank you, Ed! And I see you reblogged my new one, thanks for that, too. I'm glad you appreciate my efforts around here, sir. Your family's lucky to have you.
That's some excellent advice Ed! Written in a very approachable and engaging manner. You definitely hit on a lot of the things I wish I had realized when I first started, though somehow I mucked through and got there in the end.
Nicky laughs at me, but I still see crypto as Monopoly money. Probably because here in the US what I've earned in three years of blogging would last only a few months to keep me afloat. In that sense, Hive continues to be about the people for me. Even when I don't have enough time to post myself or even leave a comment, I still peek in when I can to see what my peeps are up to. If I hadn't found so many genuine friendships I'd be long gone by now.
There's always going to be some bullshit or disputes over who's posts are overvalued, but if at least most of us keep it real this place will continue to draw me in.
Written in a very approachable and engaging manner
That's a good compliment, I am a simple man with simple ideas, and there's nothing wrong with that 😁
I had realized when I first started, though somehow I mucked through and got there in the end.
I ended up checking on old @dandays posts yesterday, and you were equally as supportive and charming back in the days ("the ooooold daaaays")
I still see crypto as Monopoly money
Did you cash out once? What I am gonna do is keep some liquidity, and if the price bumps up, cash a portion of it. But no powering down (at least for a long time) and let's see what happens.
Probably because here in the US what I've earned in three years of blogging would last only a few months to keep me afloat
In South Africa, the conversion rate was interesting for us, but here, yep it won't be enough. I guess if you start adding up few revenues stream it starts getting interesting.
There's always going to be some bullshit or disputes over who's posts are overvalued, but if at least most of us keep it real this place will continue to draw me in.
I agree with you on this, we can always focus on the good!
I ended up checking on old @dandays posts yesterday, and you were equally as supportive and charming back in the days ("the ooooold daaaays")
Well I hit it off with Pura pretty quickly, so figured I might as well be nice to him. 😉
And nope, never cashed out. I powered down all my Steem, but transferred it all over to Hive. I did buy some soap once with Steem, so could definitely see buying goods with crypto more so than actually cashing out if more was available. It would be nice if someday the value went up enough to make it worth anything here, but until then I'm just having fun. If anything it puts less pressure on me to post. So as you pointed out as a good tip, I only post if I really have something I want to share, not to chase them dolla dolla bills.
I'm totally used to it. If it wasn't for her no one would talk to me. Plus the one how she gets everyone in front of the line is pretty irresistible. Those two alone and suddenly I can't get'em to stop talking to me!
@edprivat, this post should be pinned as the best personal advice for the newcomer artist/musicians. And not just for them and like usual tips... Your words are coming from heart and years of experience. There is no better combination.
Would be great if this post could come in other languages also, as this is global and there are people who would not understand this post.
I had not a lot of experience in social media platforms, so maybe my words don't count...but the fact is that I feel this like a big family. And still a lot of family members I have to get to know.
I know, sounds as a cliche... but it is how it is..(or it should be, at least).
I had my beginners errors, just posting some music and nothing, no engagement. What a fail. Luckily, it didn't last for long and I discovered the real magic of engagement (again sounds as cliche, but everyone can have it's own way...I like it this way now :-) )
One year before, I even could not imagine I would be here 😇🙌🎵
Thank you again for this post, I hope as much people as possible will read your wise thoughts and listen to your music 🎶
Heyyy Thanks so much for this post, I am new here and with my love @ravenking13 we also have a musician soul, amongst other things you also mention, like self-sufficient living and doing what you love, quoi 😉
Gonna check out your Song Request Project!
Cheers & see you around!
Great list of recommendations and clarifications! A good detox guide for those having just escaped that ecosystem. Since you already have detoxed fully you can have some !BEER and $WINE .😈 🍺 🍷
Will be checking out the song request with @kaliphae we wanted to do more music together, so might be a nice opportunity to jam.🎸
Congratulations, @ravenking13 You Successfully Shared 0.200 WINE With @edprivat. You Earned 0.200 WINE As Curation Reward. You Utilized 2/5 Successful Calls.
Nice that was useful to read...that Nicky I am sure is like a crypto drug dealer or something....I am still getting the hang of it here but everyone is helpful and nice. I think now I can spread some vibes which to us is what music is all about and I think on reading your post here it maybe a bit more genuine than on twitter and stuff like that! Big up the musc
Wow, I love that you remember me, you were my first guest at a concert at the discord and it is a beautiful memory for all of us who had the opportunity to listen to you, I still have the program on the Palnet channel, only now it's called " Encuentro de Talentos ", I have such fond memories of meeting you that I always keep you in mind when I listen to your music at home or on the channel.
Certainly it is as you say, the chain of blocks more than a chain of codes, it is a chain of human beings who make life here and we all share with joy and affection, this world has changed our lives and we have learned a lot because knowing to people by just their writing or their voice limits communication but we have proven that it is not impossible.
I humbly thank you for the mention and here I am closer and present in the chain, when you want, come visit me on my blog and when you want come sing about the old days.
Keep in mind that if you dare to make a community you know that you can count on me and what I can support you with, I am a small fish but with very good energy lol.
Say hello to your beautiful family.
I send you a big hug and good vibes.
With love angelica7
I have such fond memories of meeting you that I always keep you in mind when I listen to your music at home or on the channel
Funny enough, It was one of my favorite virtual concert so far, we had a very good time!
it is a chain of human beings who make life here and we all share with joy and affection, this world has changed our lives and we have learned a lot because knowing to people by just their writing or their voice limits communication but we have proven that it is not impossible.
You are a poet, this is beautifully said!
visit me on my blog and when you want come sing about the old days.
Keep in mind that if you dare to make a community you know that you can count on me and what I can support you with, I am a small fish but with very good energy lol.
I might take you up on that, someone also suggested to translate this article, it might not be a bad idea (I could give you some HIVE for the job of course)
I also have an idea for a community, I will let you know about it
Loving these tips. It's all about community on here and I love that after 3 years, I am still getting to meet some great like minded folk, like you, all by following those tips you have put up above xxxxx
Yep, I can't believe if haven't even interacted with each other in 3 years. To be fair, I was minding my own business a little too much before and just focused on music on here. Now that my horizons have widened a bit, it's easier to enjoy good conversations on any topic you like 😃 thanks for passing by friend!
#4 is probably the most important in my opinion. People may love someone's music, but in a place like this, they want to get to know you and find things they can relate to. Good write up my man.
Really good post @edprivat, lots of great advise. I am still working my way through all of it.
But what an adventure it has been.
Love that you share your family with us, in my world, it's all about family AND community.
Thanks for tagging me, I feel special.😉
Bother me? No way. I enjoy your company.
You are a fellow farmer, my favorite kind of people. Throw in all your other talents, you must be a cool guy.😎
You hit the nail! Somehow I wished for a special corner at HIVE where newbies are supported in many ways, including grouping of great posts that shall help them. That said, this post is also very relevant for many users active at HIVE :) The most important advice you gave is: One needs to like it to be here at HIVE. In the end, the money thing maybe something compelling to be active at HIVE, but when money is the driver, many will loose their interest. HIVE can never be a sustainable way of creating a main (or even side) income.
Just been reading your post whilst having lunch and wow, absolutely loved it. It's nice to hear someone keeping it real and there is some great advice too. Really enjoyed it 🙂
Please don't tag me. I'm done. Nothing of that helped me. I became the enemy for sharing my thoughts. I lost the support because I didn't have time to be active as before. The best tip is to join a big powerful group and that what will lead to success. Just like in the real life.No matter how good you are, if working alone nothing good will happen.
This is such a wonderful post my friend, and you really covered it all.
Great advices 😉👍
Engaging with People and commenting on posts was something I learned from day one was my THING 😊
I didn't earn anything my first year here 2017, but I did get lots of followers and comments and that made me getting to know People.
I saw others making lots but I hadn't found my nich back then, and I didn't think my photos was good enogh to post 😜 lol
If I read this post back then it would have helped.
Nothing comes easily, we have to work hard to reach our goals.
But I love it as that is how we learn and grow.
Thank you for sharing your Journey and experiences.
Also Great advice that Will be a Great help for MANY!
You are amazing my friend 🤗 and this was so much heart and you pointed out the Golden tips.
Stay Awsome ❤️🌹🤗
Engaging with People and commenting on posts was something I learned from day one was my THING 😊
I can see that you are the type to engage hahaha. I think it's one of your greatest strength, and I remember thinking that about that years ago already.
I am blushing with your compliments, thanks it means a lot, YOU STAY AWESOME TOO!!! 😁🤗😘
This is a great write up. Now I can understand well that most people just post for posting say and don't really have a great and deep content. Engaging more in writing really matters.
Thanks for this
Yo. Im good thanks.
For me most of my social media isnt going anywhere living out here.
My posts get sent to Asia. Sucks.
So its slow going for me.
Try it ed. :D
Are you kidding me ? You are killing it, you have 600 subs on Youtube! I will give tiktok a try, up until now I thought it was for teenagers, but you gotta do what you gotta do!

Thanks bruv ^^ good idea to give back to the community. We should do that more often

I got all excited to see 20+ notifications. It seems you made a lot of edits! 🤣
Woops! You got paid in edits!! Why you aren't smiling? Ohh... You can't live off edits, it makes sense! 😁 Thanks nonetheless for stopping by!

Well, you are popular to us ^^

Yep, he is our own Heisenberg, making the purest crystals on the blockchain!
You are damn right, it doesn't mean there are no arguments here, but you will quickly notice a pattern of positivity, and constructivism.

This is beautiful brother. Good advice for life in general i think. Although I'm going to keep my HD eczema pics to myself thank you very much ;)
Here's to bringing back that fulltime crypto life with a vengeance. We are all going to need it the way things are going.
Make an NFT with it?
I don't know why I am loving so much what you just said! It just has a nice ring to it!
That's a bit more pessimistic but I can't really blame the dude for thinking. Not many people do that no more. Thanks for passing by bud!

I try to remain optimistic in the face of my own pessimism. ;)
