What an interesting story and a fascinating man. It’s fun to speculate on things like these. Most of the times they just end up being coincidences but it’s fun to let your fantasy run wild. Referring to the repeating date of 3rd of February. I enjoyed this!
Yeah, I mean it's undoubtedly a coincidence- I mean you couldn't describe it as "fate" if you wanted to because with the exception of the plane crash, all were willing acts. You could just as easily pin at least Meek's prediction and his own subsequent murder/suicide as Feb 3rd being an important date in his subconscious; hence that's why he thought of that date and why he also ended it all on that date. But, really, who knows
Or not even "planned to", I was more so getting at February 3rd holding a subconsciously important meaning that maybe he was not even outwardly aware of. Stemming from trauma, something of that nature. Anyways, yeah, we'll never know

I'd imagine his legacy kind of died with him. He was really well known at the time, to my understanding, but he never made any huge amounts of progress and seemed to isolate himself from the broader music world pretty hard. If he had lived to produce more I'm sure he'd be a common name but, he kinda took that opportunity away from himself.
You know, it sucks because I both want to hate him and like him at the same time. Like he was really interesting, and certainly the kind of guy I want to like when it comes to his interests. But then, he was also a violent and horrible person. But then again, I have to wonder how much of that comes from being alive during a time when the entire world is against you. I mean, not that it's too much different now, but then it was just straight up illegal for him to even be himself. Add severe mental illness to that, at a time when that also wasn't gonna receive any help short of a lobotomy, and Joe didn't really have many chances in life..

Thanks for reading!
Fair point. For all we know he had already planned to take his life that day and the landowner was just unlucky to confront him that day.

What an interesting story. I had't actually heard of Joe Meek before although I know Telstar.
I look forward to reading more!
