Yes, as the tile indicates, one of my dreams has come true. Let me tell you the story.
Until now, I still find it hard to believe that I was able to attend my dream concert. Coldplay's Music of the Spheres Tour PH was an incredible experience that makes me feel like I'm alive again.
After 7 years of waiting since the A Head Full of Dreams Tour, the band finally fulfilled their promise to come back here in the Philippines, and I really hold to that promise since I don't have any extra money to buy tickets from their last tour here in our country. All I had to do at that time just to ease my sadness over not having a chance to experience their tour, was to attend the Coldplay sessions at UP Town Center. There were lots of merchandise and activities that I really enjoyed.
This is the photo I took last 2017 Coldplay Session:
And now 2024, I've finally secured a concert ticket! And there are no words that can describe how I felt when I eventually held my favorite band's concert ticket. Since the seats were selling so quickly when tickets were being sold, the seat I was able to get was not what I had wanted, but many fans claim that every seat at a Coldplay show is stunning and well worth the price.
It's just been a few days since the show, but I feel like I'll never be able to fully move on from this. It's like the best time of my life. It felt like heaven to me to be singing my favorite song, which got me through a difficult time in life, in front of my favorite band and other people who also love their music.
We chose to arrive as early as possible at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan, where the concert was being held, as we were concerned about potential traffic. Thus, we got to Philippine Arena five hours before the gate opened. We can immediately saw that many of the earlycomers are dressed in Coldplay t-shirts, props, and posters, which makes us really happy and excited. I'm even more thrilled at the large screen displaying the Coldplay concert advertisement.
We waited in line for three hours to almost reach the gate outside the arena due to the large number of attendees. It's super tiring to stand for 3 hrs and wait outside but I don't it, I'm just enjoying the moment. So when we arrived at the gate, they checked out bags and gave us the Pixmob, it's a lighting LED device that will use in the concert. Just a fun fact, during their 2012 "Mylo Xyloto" tour, Coldplay invented the use of light-up wristbands, a trend that has since been adopted by Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, and other celebrities. The fans were given a wristbands, or Xylobands (as we call them), which are used to create a vibrant light show during the concert.
The closer we got to the screen as we moved through the arena, the more I started to have a teary-eyed. So, before the concert starts, the screen flashed a short film about the environment conservation, and ways how we can protect it. They also explained that the concert was trying to lessen their carbon footprints, to make their best efforts, Coldplay is taking measures like minimizing emissions from logistics and transportation by partnering with DHL. Additionally, kinetic dancefloors and power bikes that can generate electricity are included in the tour, enabling fans to actively contribute to the show's battery replenishment. Fans can peddle these stationary bikes to produce additional energy that is used to charge the batteries.
Everything still not sinking in, not until the concert starts and the wristband lights up like a heartbeat with the song, "Higher Power". It's powerful, magical and beautiful. It seems like I might burst into tears at that very moment. It was ten times more stunning live than it was on the concert videos I watched.
The concert goes on, we danced, sing, jump, and shout very hard, until the songs that saved me few years ago played, it was called "Yellow". That's when I started to sob. It's strange how one specific song can lift our spirits, but everytime I'm feeling down, "Yellow" is the song I usually turn to. This serves as a constant reminder that even in the face of difficulties there are stars in the sky that will always shine for me.
All of my favorites songs were played including Clocks, Politik, Fix You, The Scientist, Sparks and etc. It's really a dream come true to hear those songs live.
Everything was fantastic until the last song, "Biutyful," which was also quite upbeat. There were flying spheres around the arena, which makes the concert more beautiful.
But knowing that the concert was almost over makes me very sad.
The concert end with the screen flashing the band credits like a film.
It was sad but still hopeful.
The band that helped me get through this life.
I hope they return very soon.

Yeah, the first-day tickets sold out in a matter of seconds, which is why I was relieved to know that there would be a second day's concert. Anyway, thank you! 🥹

What a wonderful experienced! Huhu😭 COLDPLAY!!!
I hope you'll be able to make it to their next tour! 😊
Is it still worth attending a concert at the Philippine Arena? But I guess it's becoming more of a standard now since it has big capacity. It just sounds like a nightmare to go there. haha
Why? Hehe. Philippine Arena was truly amazing as a venue for Coldplay, and even the other attendees who were from different countries had positive things to say about the venue.
I meant the way going there. I've heard about the heavy traffic, difficulty in finding a parking space, long lines etc.
Yeah, but everything is worth it!
