Nací en diciembre del año 1967 en Venezuela, y para mí, el Heavy Metal comenzó en el año 1976 con 8 años de edad cuando en casa de una tía vi un disco en el cual había una foto enmarcada y pegada en una pared derruida de un hombre cargando leña, el disco no tenía nombre, en su contraportada estaba la lista de las canciones, pero llamaba mucho la atención 4 símbolos de los cuales el primero decía algo como Sozo. Lo saque de su carátula y en su etiqueta decía Atlantic. Procedí a ponerlo en el tocadiscos y bueno la primera canción Black Dog, era algo distinto a lo que había escuchado en mi casa, (Tito Rodríguez, la Fania All Star, Celia Cruz, Javier Solís, Pedro Infante, Dimensión Latina, Billo´s Caracas Boys, Los Melódicos, Boleros de todo tipo). Una voz aguda (Robert Plant) que hipnotiza, solos de guitarra (Jimmy Page), una fuertísima Batería (John Bonham), un bajo (John Paul Jones) discreto pero contundente. Allí empieza mi inclinación hacia el Rock con el grupo Led Zeppelin!

There begins my inclination towards Rock with the group Led Zeppelin!

Escuchados en la actualidad, estos temas suenan repetitivos pero en los años 60 y 70 fueron revolucionarios, a mí a esta edad de 53 años y en pleno año 2021 me gustan mucho estas dos canciones como fanático del Rock en general. Dentro de los grupos destacados dentro de esta tendencia en los 70 aún escucho a: Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, UFO, Wishbone Ash, Budgie, Blue Öyster Cult, Scorpions, Rainbow, Judas Priest, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Saxon, Venom, Manowar, y muchísimos otros. Este género del Rock me ha ayudado a combatir la depresión y, aunque es difícil de creer, me desestresa. Pienso que la manera de interpretar el significado de cualquier tipo de música que escuchemos depende además de nuestro estado de ánimo de los valores que hemos aprendido a través de nuestra vida y debemos discernir lo bueno de lo malo y ubicarnos en el contexto de la canción.
Listened to nowadays, these songs sound repetitive but in the 60's and 70's they were revolutionary, to me at this age of 53 years old and in the year 2021 I really like these two songs as a fan of Rock in general. Within the outstanding groups within this trend in the 70's I still listen to: Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, UFO, Wishbone Ash, Budgie, Blue Öyster Cult, Scorpions, Rainbow, Judas Priest, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Saxon, Venom, Manowar, and many, many others. This genre of Rock has helped me fight depression and, although it's hard to believe, it de-stresses me. I think that the way we interpret the meaning of any kind of music we listen to depends not only on our mood but also on the values we have learned throughout our lives and we must discern the good from the bad and place ourselves in the context of the song.
