Almost four week ago I broke my left wrist, and because of the cast was not able to play with my left hand. Four days ago, the cast came of again, so I could start playing again with two hands.
After three weeks in the cast, my wrist, joints and the finger are all quite stiff, so it'll take a lot of practise to restore my left hand to it's former agility. Nevertheless, I am happy to be able to play again with two hands.
The theme of this week's Open Mic was therefore very appropriate for me. Happiness is playing with two hands again! And what better piece to play than this light, sunny and joyous piece of Fortunato Chelleri? He was born in Germany, but lived and worked most of his live in Italy. In the few works of him I am familiar with, one can hear the joy of living the good live in Italy.
I've played this piece already for the Steemit Openmic two years ago and againg fir Sonic Groove Live. With it's wit and energy it is a fun piece to play and I need the practice. So, I hope you don't mind.
The recording was done with the Hauptwerk software and the sampleset, made by Sonus Paradisi, of the Schnittger organ in the St. Martini-kerk, Groningen (https://www.sonusparadisi.cz/en/organs/netherlands/groningen-st-martini.html).
All 6 of Fortunato's fugues can be downloaded on my site: http://partitura.org/index.php/chelleri-fortunato/

I can not explain how happy I am that you joined Hive Open Mic, right now with Happiness topic. I agree with you, happiness is when you can play again with two hands!!
This is so cool, so we have organ music as well in #openmic . This is called diversity now!

🤣 Luckily, no ice nearby :)
I hope @cabelindsay , our admin from openmic will listen to your joyful interpretation of equally joyful fuga, after just a few weeks of your bad wrist and knee injury.
I have always been telling you how much I like your smile 😁 every time you finish a composition. But this time it is even more marked, happy ending 🌠🌠🌠
It was fantastic ti play this piece again. And the stiffnes in my left hand isn't even too noticeable in my performance. So, tes, I was happy!

Stiffnes? Nothing noticeable. It was just perfect left hand playing as always.
You flatter me 🙂
Besides the obvious wrong notes, the 16th notes are not as even to my ears as they should be. But I'm working on it...
That make me happy too to know you're ok and play with both hand again!
Keep doing well!
Playing a keyboard (piano, organ, etc) is the best rehabilitation there is, I guess, for a hand injury like this. Lucky me... :-)
