This walk helped dannewton burn 525.0 calories. @dannewton just finished a 6.84km walk, that lasted for 73 minutes.

Description from Strava: A poor night's sleep (less than 4 hours in total), and so after waking again at 5.30, I decided to give up trying and get out of bed.

My bus wasn't until 7.20, but as I was wide awake, I decided to make the most of the conditions, and decided to walk the 4 miles to work.

With frost on the ground, it was pretty chilly... but as I was walking at a decent pace, I didn't feel cold.

I do love cold, crisp mornings like these, much better than the cold damp miserable weather we've previously had

I took the most direct route I could, and managed to walk over 4 miles in 1 hour and 15... a reasonable pace considering a backpack full of work stuff.

And then to follow up on the interview from yesterday, I have just been informed that I have been successful! 🥳🎉

Really pleased to hear that, as I'm long overdue a change of scenery. I'm still working in the same dept, but with a different set it people, and a different set of responsibilities. A great chance for me to get different experience with regards to furthering my career.

It's internal, so I know need to wait for both my old manger and my new manager to reach an agreement on my start date, but I know I'm moving eventually, so that's good enough for me for now!

can't wait to talk to my partner this evening after work, to tell her the good news!

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)

Congrats on the job. It's been a bit frosty lately, but soon warms up. My trip to work is a little longer at about 10 miles. I would like to cycle it again some time as that can be mostly off the roads. I've not run it yet.

Thank you. Really excited for a change of scenery

ooh 10 miles to run to and/or from work is a fair old distance, I'm not sure I'd want to do that regularly! More doable on a bike though, and would be easier now the mornings/evenings are getting lighter :-)

Keep going, you're smashing your training at the moment and getting stronger every day.
