Description from Strava: So I might have said I was gonna attempt parkrun this weekend... er, no that didn't happen. Tiredness and a lack of interest were my excuses this time!

Instead I mopped about for a bit feeling sorry for myself, and then I headed into to meet a friend for lunch. On the way back I popped into the shop, and picked up some supplies, and then I had another pointless phone conversation with British Gas..

It's been an ongoing issue over the past 3 months, whereby my account is in credit by over £800, but in order to claim some of that money back I need a recent bill to apply that refund to. Trying to get a new bill is the issue, and everytime I contact british gas, I get fobbed of with the excuse "our billing team is still looking at it, please be patient", and its starting to piss me off.

The conversation today ended the same as all the offers, "please wait 7 days for the bill to be sent out", but he apparently made a note on my account so that if isn't sorted next week, then it'll be escalated.

So pointless conversation over, I decided I could do with a run to clear my head etc. I didn't have time for a longer run today, but a 7km loop around the village was enough. The weather was pleasantly sunny this morning, but by the time I got round to getting ready for the run, it looked like rain was on the way. Checking the forecast, there was a high chance of thundery showers this afternoon, but with limited time available I just crossed my fingers and went for it.

and as it turned out, other than a few drops, I managed to get it done in the dry!

And it was nicely timed, because as no sooner had I arrived home my partner pulled up up in her car, having driven home from uni. They have a couple of weeks off with no lectures, so she chose to drive home for a few days, to give herself a little break from her studies. Its also a nice opportunity to spend some time together, although as I'm working all week, that time will be limited. We'll at least spend the evenings together, which will be nice enough

And on that note, I'm gonna go help her unpack, and then we can settle down for the evening and spend some quality time together.

We're heading into town tomorrow, so my next run will most likely be on the Monday evening next week, so I catch up with you all then

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)
