RE: Morning Run: Drizzly

I thought it interesting that you said it was far too early for Christmas decorations. Here in the US, the traditional day to put up Christmas Decorations was this past Friday (the day after our Thanksgiving).

What is the traditional day in the UK?

Sort:

I'm not sure there is a certain day, but some people at least wait until December. I don't think Xmas should last over a month. Our decorations may not go up for a couple of weeks. The kids are grown up now anyway.

Our traditional day is typically because the day after our Thanksgiving is a holiday, too. Not all, but most people get off both the Thursday and Friday. Since they have that extra day for family, they take advantage of it.

The decoration take down day varies though, many do it on January 1, others wait until the weekend after New Years. But I know some have specific dates, too.

It feels like Christmas lasts longer these days as shops have had displays for a while. I know they want to sell stuff, but at home I think a week of decorations is plenty. Just call me Scrooge.
