RE: Morning Run: Come on legs!

in EXHAUST2 years ago

Morning is the best time for a run, although I've got into this routine recently of getting up at 6.30 working for a couple hours, run and breakfast at 10.00-11.30 then back to work. Breaks up the day pretty nicely.

Funny I thought 'new build' as soon as I saw that roundabout! Standard template for the estate!

I like to get the run out of the way first thing. After years of getting up really early to drive to London I consider 6:45 a lie-in.

Ah it's all relative! I did used to get up earlier when I was in teaching, I'm finding 6.30 now at this time of year especially optimal!

It's what you are used to and what your body can handle.

I've just been reading about running slower for better results. Maybe I need to aim for a lower heart rate on some of my runs. Something to try this year. Will still do some intervals and parkrun is my gauge of how I'm doing.

There's certainly something to be said for not maxing out, I made a point of deliberately not pushing it today when I could have gone faster, I noticed I was already 30 mins faster than my same run last week, that's enough of a gain for one week!
