I just finished a 26.146km running that lasted about 3hh:20mm:21ss !

Hitting the hills!

Got up bright and early and drove for nearly 2hrs to Chinley for a run around and up Kinder Scout which is the highest point in the Peak District. As well as a few other moderate hills the run totalled over 1000m in climbing. Unfortunately the visibility was about 50m max so the views were a little different than expected!
I pinched the route off Komoot and sent it to my Garmin. Can’t fault it at all, it was correct right to the last km. Because of the fog it was really difficult to work out where we were, it wasn’t until we were about 100m from the summit that we realised we were there. We completely missed the waterfall, the rock shelf and the mermaids pool and was too cold to turn back and go looking for them. The descent was boggy in places and paved with rock slabs in others. I got the full bog experience and almost lost my shoe a couple of times. Note to self - tighten laces! Really really fun day out with good company. Hot bath + some deep stretching needed tonight ❤️

Thank you. Hills are your training friends 🙃

Wow, your fitness level must be off the scale. I've not yet been to Kinder, although I have been told it's a tough old climb, and that's just walking it. I've only ever seen the place from the Edale side. It's a shame about the weather, but well done on the run.

Thank you! We power hike the steep bits so that’s about a third of the distance and use that time to take on food + liquids so you end up looking forward to the climbs! It's a less busy but longer route from the Hayfield side. I recommend it next time you’re there :)

Hell yeah!

This is the best part.

From the places I cycled during my stay in the UK, Peak District gotta be the best. One suffer to cycle up those hills, but then bombing down the slopes is just way too awesome.

I'm a littttle bit achy today! I saw lots of mountain bike tracks in the mud and wondered to myself how on earth do people get up there on bikes? It's hard enough on foot, I can't imagine how tough it would be to ride!

We exchange our souls to a chance to go up there \o\

I've never been on top of Kinder Scout, but I did cycle up the Great Ridge from both sides (Man Tor and then again from the Lose Hill side). The steepest parts one gotta carry the 12-kilo mountain bike on the shoulder (almost makes me want to switch to carbon frames).

I gotta tell you though... running is more difficult. I can cycle a whole day if needed, but during this pandemic I decided to run. My legs burned after 10 minutes! wtf.
