Description from Strava:
There was a little frost on the lawn this morning, but the sun was out. I jogged up to parkrun and that was feeling like hard work. That is often the case as my body needs to get warmed up before I am really ready to run.
It was quite busy there today as Shefford Runners had brought along their Couch to 5k class plus some other club runners. That meant that it was a little crowded for the first part of the run. There is a mud patch after the first corner that does have a less muddy path, but with all the people it was hard to follow that.
I was just trying to keep my friend Jeff in view ahead of me as some sort of pacer as I know he is a little quicker than me. He did get away a bit. I just gave it what I had and was feeling it. On the last lap a fair few people came past me and that may have pushed me to try a little harder. I managed a little sprint at the end to get my best time of the year. I hope to improve on that. There were 170 runners, which is a lot more than usual. One guy was doing his 500th event and another had clocked up 150 different parkruns. I am a long way from either of those milestones.
I went for a coffee at the camp shop with a few people afterwards. parkrun is a social event where I have made a few friends. I jogged most of the way home (logged separately) and that felt quite easy, although it was well below my 'race pace'. Sometimes you feel like you can just keep going. I will try for another run tomorrow at a gentle pace.
I shall be in the garden again today. I have a pond to install.
Run free!

Hi Steve, I went for a walk today for the first time in weeks. Very nice little wander around the area. Weather is beautiful.
It's been pretty nice lately. I don't mind the cold if there's some sun. The spring colours do help with that. Have fun.

Solid run, the mud patch situation is almost like real life Mario Kart, dodging the worst spots while squeezing through the crowd. Congrats on your best time this year man. I just hope the pond install goes smoother than the run 👌🙏🙏🙏
Cheers. The pond is ongoing and I'll report on it later.
ok man, have a good one
It was abnormally hot here according to March with 25C, let alone running, I got sweaty while walking.
Not that warm here, but nice anyway.
