It was chilly again with just a hint of frost on the lawn. After feeding the chicken I headed off on another run. I had a route in mind that would go to some places I had not visited in a while. I was aching a little from shifting a load of earth in the garden yesterday as I installed a new pond.
I started off with my usual run around Fairfield, so that was one climb. I diverted off from that towards the Greenway and that means a bigger, steeper climb. I had to walk the last bit of that, but ran again once I reached the top. That joins up with the Letchworth parkrun course that I did part of down the farm track. It was not looking too bad at Carnage Corner, which can get really muddy. I did not turn up the hill there, but headed towards Stotfold along the road.
I had a meander through Stotfold and then cut into Etonbury Woods by the (now closed) Fox and Duck. I had seen mention of the bridge being damaged and there is part of a plank missing. The bridge is quite wide, so it is not a major hazard. People just need to pay attention and the cone may help.
I had a little more energy for the last stretch. I passed my running friend Graham walking his dog. He did well at parkrun yesterday, but he has been focusing on longer runs.
It was not a quick run, but it was a good one. I think this is my most weekly distance in a while. I may be out for a walk to a pub after lunch. I have a few chores to do first.
