steevc just finished a 14.8km run, that lasted for 88 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 1110.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
Update: I changed the post title as it may seen insensitive given the horrific events in South Korea. Thoughts with those who have suffered there.

I did not run yesterday due to marshalling at parkrun, so needed to make up for it today. We got an extra hour in bed thanks to the clocks going back, but it was still hard to get up. As I headed out things were a bit damp and then it rained whilst I was running.

I was trudging through a lot of leaves today and hoping I did not slip. Nearest I came was when I mis-judged a kerb. I went up through Fairfield. I saw a fair few Halloween displays. Some people really go for it. The rain was coming down, but not too heavily.

Then I headed up the road towards Standalone Farm. I did a fair bit of the 10k course I raced recently, but doing it alone is different. My legs were feeling a bit stiff and heavy today, but I kept going. I took a selfie by what I believe was the first all concrete house in the UK. Lots of interesting houses around Letchworth, but then it is expensive around there.

I ran out through Norton towards Stotfold. I was staying off the muddy trails today. I am just not a fan of mud and it can be slippery. For the race I was doing all this on the road itself, but I had to watch out for traffic today.

I was tiring as I came through Stotfold, but still had a few km to go. I was not going to add any extra distance today. I saw a few other runners out and we waved to each other even though there was nobody I knew.

As I came into Arlesey there was a broken pumpkin scattered across the path. Some idiot had to spoil the fun.

I had had enough by the time I got home. Breakfast and a shower were very welcome. My Allbirds shoes are fairly waterproof, but my socks were wet anyway.

Podcast listening included BBC Inside Science, Chasing Tone (Wampler guitar show), BBC News Quiz and Cryptomaniacs (from some Hive guys). I get most BBC shows a month late since they gave preference to their own app, but I listen to shows from a variety of sources using Pocket Casts.

I didn't see the original title but you're considerate to change it if. I saw the news about Korea. How horrifying.

The weather here yesterday was a bit dangerous for kids to be going about but I still saw some through the window.

The weather is a bit wild right now. We didn't have any kids come to us, but then we don't have any Halloween decorations.

You're smashing your training at the moment and getting stronger every day.

There was a Halloween disaster in South Korea. Have you watched it?,/ pity to those who have died and been injured.

I did hear about that, but didn't consider it for my title. I may change that as I don't want to offend anyone.

I'm surprised you spent 1110 calories. If I do, I will become very thin which is not good for me at all. Hope it's ok for your health. thank you

Please don't worry about my health. I do fine as I eat well. I run so I can eat cake :)

Great work with the Training 🙂

I saw a fair few Halloween displays. Some people really go for it.

We have that here in Canada as well. Some of the decorations are absolutely wild. One guy down my street has attire front yard filled with stuff including a 10 foot tall Scream 😱 mask attached to a makeshift shed. I can't even understand where a person would store that amount of stuff. Their garage must be filled with just decorations.

It will be the same people who cover their house in lights at Christmas. I don't really mind what they do and it does liven the place up a bit. We tend to have some minimal lights in December.

!BEER

Yeah it's definitely very festive and fun
