Losing fitness is depressing. I'm surprised that such a short break could do that much. I had nearly 2 weeks off from running recently and don't seem much worse and I'm a bit older than you. I did a bit of walking plus some push-ups and chin-ups. I can do 7 or 8 of the latter now, so I am improving. Ten would be great.

yeah, i am still stuck at 7 or 8 chinups, pullups are still extremely difficult for me. Some days are better than others though as I am sure you have experienced as well.
Not been trying the other way, but I guess I should. Considering I could only do about 3 chins not so long ago it's a good improvement.
