Happy St. Paddy's Day!
When I say 'pub session' I mean a music making one. I did not have much to drink. Here is @todayslight singing one of his own songs by the fire. @anna-newkey was there too. I did not have too much beer, but we did share some crisps that were being sold cheap as they had passed their sell-by date (not by much). It was a nice evening with lots of good tunes.
Wednesday had been really wet, but Thursday was nice and bright, if cold. I did another loop of Fairfield. Here I am on the way up there by some trees that fell in the recent storm.
I tried to make it a fairly quick one and managed to pick up the pace on the second half. By the time I ran back down the hill I was going well.
This is the sort of pace I want to be doing. It is a matter of pushing harder each time. That was 10s/km quicker than my average for this route, so I am improving.
parkrun will probably be muddy again this week, but I do not mind too much. It is only bad on a short stretch and I quite like the Henlow course. I just need to see an improvement on my times and training runs like this should help.
Run free and stay well.
Your consistency is paying off my friend, on running volume of kms is the most important than speed.
I'm trying to keep up my weekly routine. I seem to be over whatever illness I had recently, so back on it now.

Yes indeed. We Hivers who get together can get pics of each other. I was sure you would not mind me posting this :)
No of course not! Publicity!
Hats off to your consistency with your running regime! Think I'm done with it, dodgy knees.. but I picked up Yoga again, which I really enjoy!
Good point about the pictures!
I shall make more use of my camera too.. not sure why I didn't last night, it was sitting there on the table ready to swing into action..
Ah, well, next time.. ;)
I did a shorter workout today, but it still helped me work up a bit of a sweat. Looks like rain for us the next week or so. That looks like a pretty cool place to hang out. I think it is interesting how the pubs over there are actually just little houses. Everything over here is so commercial. Even when it is called a pub. Very industrial because it is more about how many tables they can fit in and turn them over for a profit.
This pub may have been a house at some point, but others are purpose built and much bigger. I think those in villages can struggle, but they are an important social meeting place. A lot of people never use them as they have so much entertainment at home.
Looks like you have a great community in your area. Ours isn't great where we live now but the village we are moving to, has a lot more to offer. So can't wait!
I'm quite proud that I founded this music community. It just takes someone to get it started and then you can see where it goes. A lot of people are looking for places to play. Just find a friendly pub. A lot of them are struggling anyway.

That's something I hope we'll find where we are moving to. We've visited a few times, as out grown up kids live there, one of the reasons we wanted to move closer to them. We've already been to a few village hall events, the people were friendly. They approach you rather than shy away and stick with the people they know in the corner.
Maybe we can set up a photography or music club of some sort, you never know!

.That's a good pace Steve considering you had a couple the night before. Have you ever tried lactate threshold? It has improved my pace no end. All I use now is this barometer and I find I've got my pace right up to a different level of fitness.
There's so many training techniques. I do some intervals sometimes that push me to the limit. I will look that up.
yeah its all around your max heart rate which is easy to figure out after a couple of runs. Do 75% of max and try and hold it there. Next day do 50%. Then day after up to 80%. There are many plans around that are available but I've been running for years and that method is fairly solid. My next door neighbour is a marathon running and he does a marathon in 2:15. Uses this method. It's funny. At first you will struggle to hold your heartrate at a certain percentage. But after a while the line will be horizontal.
Good work @steevec if I’m seeing this correctly, was that a 17m incline? To keep that pace is really impressive. Once again good work.
That second kilometre is a long climb. It is the biggest hill near home, so I make the most of that workout.
you are dedicated! I had quite the blowout yesterday for SPD but still got in a gym session this morning. It was a little harder than days where I didn't have such a heavy head but nothing chases away a hangover quite like tons of water and exercise.
I went to the pub with colleagues this afternoon, but want to be up for parkrun tomorrow. I rarely drink a lot though.
