A World of Unbridled Truth?

in HiveGhana3 days ago (edited)

Some days ago, someone asked me something and I told him I was telling him the truth, after all, we’re all adults and nobody will beat me. It reminded me of those days where our mothers would tell us to come closer and tell them the truth with assurance that they wouldn’t beat us. But you say the truth and you cry for an hour because the beatings you’d receive were heavenly.

But to think of it, I couldn’t even envision a world without lies. Of course maybe our family and friends telling us the truth all the time would be okay but certain external ones like the government? It’s going to cause havoc. Even for close people, I think you can’t always tell them the truth. Let’s just face it, there’s nothing wrong chipping in some lies here and there if it has no harmful effects on people.

Like you really don’t expect me to look into the eyes of a postpartum depressed lady and tell her that she looks big or ugly. The same way you don’t expect me to look in the eyes of a friend trying so hard to learn a skill that he/she is terrible at it. At least, some compliments to keep them going would definitely have to resurface.

Now, lets talk about the government. Although I believe that the government coming out to tell us the truth about the economy or the country would probably cause chaos and panic, I think it would be better for us as a country. Imagine you get to find out one person you respect so much is behind illegal mining, polluting our water bodies. But on the other hand, I don’t think that’s nothing we can’t handle.

The worse that could happen would be people gunning these leaders down after finding out about the hideous things these leaders have been doing. I believe just like Burkina Faso, we can also have a transparent government and even pay our debts but that’s definitely something this country would never do because the leaders know what they are getting.

Recently, there’s this former minister for finance being wanted by the Ghana Police Service and to me, these leaders are probably making noise and trying to prove to us that this particular government will be better but give them three months. The news will just die out.

If you really wanted to do something better for the country, why not just do it and then come and give us feedback later? But with this thing they’ve started, others, especially the old people will follow the story closely and might get so pissed when they find out they were playing us all this while. So what was the point?

A country without lies or living in a world with no lies would be great. You don’t have to doubt anyone or question anything because you know everything is exactly as it is or as they say but guess what? Our African leaders and certain boyfriends left the chat( nobody should come for me).

Lol 😆 abeg I almost spill whatever I was chewing in my mouth

Hahahahah , your third paragraph Sha.

Can I call it a necessary lie? 🤣

Please do😂

Hahahahah funny though, but you are making a point

You are right, a country without lies or we living in a world with no lie would be so great, because if someone especially our leaders say something we will believe them without doubts because we know they are the truth.
