Breaking Ground for New Water Infrastructure

in HiveGhana4 days ago

We are happy to announce the successful drilling of our 20th borehole at Kofi Agyei Senior High School in Kumasi after conducting a thorough survey to evaluate the location. tmThis marks another stride toward sustainable water solutions for communities in need. A comprehensive geological survey was conducted prior to the drilling to establish where the borehole would be best placed and it done to ensure that the borehole can be a sustainable and reliable source of water not only for the school but the whole community.

Water is life, it is fundamental to health, sanitation and well-being, so access to clean and safe drinking water is critical. For years now, students at Kofi Agyei Senior High School battled water shortages. Many of them, especially girls are forced to walk long distances in search of water which deprives them from studying and exposes them to dangers on their way. Despite their request for help they had not received any. Community Leaders who saw how children suffer to make life easier for them in fetching for water requested for the borehole to be constructed in the school.

This will benefit students and residents near the school. After careful consideration we decided we were impressed by this location and that the great work deserved to live in the school. The news of it draws wild excitement from students and residents when the drill started. It was a new beginning for the school surrounding communities, the joy and excitement at the completion of the borehole would be great.

That clean water is now within reach, an economic relief for the hundreds of students and families who are faced with water challenges. Now that drilling has been completed mechanisation and structural projects would follow for completion of the project. This includes all work we will do in the phase 2, installing pumping systems to allow access, developing storage facilities to enable better access to the water, and implementing filtration systems to improve water quality.

We will continue as always to share about the work we do and what goes on and we will continue to keep you updated with our progress. A huge thank you to all, we could not have done it without the wonderful support of the Hive blockchain and hive community. What we are doing is making an incredible difference to people’s lives and we can’t wait to see more results like this in the future! We are not just digging boreholes, we are impacting lives, together!
