We are delighted to provide the Hive community with an update on the ongoing construction of the 10th borehole in the Northern region of Ghana. As previously announced, the project began with a meeting with the Gbanyamli community leaders, during which they were informed about the initiative's purpose to provide accessible and clean water, supporting the needs of the community.

Following the meeting with the community leaders, a suitable plot of land was allocated for the borehole construction. The selection of the optimal location for the borehole is a decision heavily reliant on the expertise and recommendations of the drillers.

Therefore, the final site is determined based on their thorough assessment and evaluation. Before commencing the borehole drilling, conducting a preliminary survey is essential. This survey aims to assess and evaluate potential locations, considering critical factors such as geology, hydrogeology, and accessibility.

The selection of an appropriate site holds significant importance as it directly influences the achievement of the desired groundwater yield. Additionally, it is crucial to thoroughly check for the presence of any underground utilities or pipelines near the drilling site to prevent accidents or damage during the drilling process.

All necessary checks were completed before commencing the drilling, and the driller finally broke ground, marking the first phase of the project. In the Northern Region of Ghana, where rainfall is scarce, specialized drilling machines are heavily relied upon to delve deep into the earth. These incredible pieces of engineering are tailor-made to overcome the challenges posed by hard rock formations in any region.

The drilling, which comprises the first phase, has been successfully completed, and this phase will conclude with mechanization, involving the installation of submersible pumps and electrification. Even before completing the first phase, the second phase has already begun, starting with the excavation of the foundation for the water tank.

As constructing the tower typically takes several days, they began early and are now progressing with other constructional work in the second phase to ensure all tasks are completed within the project timeline. The work has been progressing steadily, and if all goes as planned, we hope to bring it to completion next week and launch the project.

This will be the 10th Hive Borehole, holding the potential for a significant impact on the lives of many in Gbamyamli township. With our capable and experienced workers handling various aspects of the project, we are confident that the outcome will be commendable. We are delighted to witness the progress made so far and are eagerly looking forward to making another great impact with this project. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all those who have supported this initiative, as it has already touched the lives of many in meaningful ways.

at what depth was water hit? and, what was the total depth of the hole/s providing water? inquiring minds would like to know. 🧐

Thank you for inquiring. The depth of the hole is always determined by the location or area. This particular one has a total depth of 330 feet, which is approximately 100 meters. If it weren't for the geological characteristics of the area, they could have drilled even more.

thank you, for that data!

Great work, this is very inspiring to see.

Thanks. indeed it is inspiring, it's one of the many projects makes us see the beauty of the Hive blockchain. Hive is changing lives

Access to clean and save water still poses a challenge to many communities in Ghana especially remote areas. This is a humanitarian project that will impact lives positively, great work.

Thanks dear. We hope to see many more impacts through the project
