Bringing Web3 to Students: A Look at the Hive Bootcamp’s Impact

in HiveGhana6 days ago (edited)

The Hive Web3 Bootcamp at Valley View University, Kumasi, was a great success and a great start for our plans of educating people about Web3 and pushing for wider adoption this year. The number of students who asked questions and participated in the event showed that all of this hard work was worth it.

The bootcamp, however, wasn't simply about orienting people on blockchain technology, it also focused on equipping them with the right knowledge also to prepare them adequately so they can thrive ones they begin their journey on Hive. We spent weeks planning and coordinating to ensure everything went smoothly and exciting.

A lot of efforts have gone into the plannning of this event from creating the agenda, to booking a venue to publicity work and to preparing event materials. We planned to create an event that wasn’t just informative but also practical; so that attendees could do more than just understand Web3, they could start using it right away.

The atmosphere was incredible; the students had so much enthusiasm, and they wanted to learn and ask questions. We first created an awareness about web3, the blockchain and cryptocurrency before introducing them to the Hive blockchain and ecosystem.
Students learned about how to create their Hive accounts, how they can make their first posts, interact with the community, explore decentralized apps (dApps) on Hive.

In all, they learned how Hive is much more than a monetization tool. This bootcamp was just the start and we plan to host more of these bootcamps at diffetent places where possible to reach more students, creators, blockchain enthusiasts. The enthusiasm at this event demonstrated that people want to learn more about Web3, and we believe these bootcamps would be a great avenue to provide the knowledge.

We’re also doubling down on boosting Hive’s presence on other platforms this time around. In-person events are exciting and are good for getting people started but we also need to keep people engaged after this initial excitement. That means giving them the needed assistance and tutorials to help them thrive on Hive.

These bootcamps have taught the participants that Web3 isn’t some distant speculative future but rather something happening right now. The most significant benefits will go to those who get involve now. Hive is not just another blockchain, but a community, a place of learning, and a platform for financial and creative freedom.

We’re more prepared to share more about its potential with more users this year. We are gald everything was a success and we appreciate all those who made this event possible. We sincerely thank the Vice Principal of Valley View University, the lecturers, speakers and the Hive Ghana team for this great support. Again, your work turned this bootcamp into valuable experience, impactful and fun. Going forward there will be several meetings and tutorials to help the new recruits enjoy their experience.
