From our recent Hive Health outreach, Dr. Ivy Donkor, an optometrist, shared her experience with Hive, describing Hive's community outreach as a great endeavor. As one of the optometrists involved in the free health screening program, she contributed her expertise to serve those who came for screening.
She was delighted to participate in the health screening and commended Hive for providing free medical screening. Based on her findings from the screening in Asamankama-Ghana, she observed that many eye issues were a result of allergies. She recommended that people maintain a clean environment and lead a healthy life.
She also mentioned a patient diagnosed with a severe eye medical condition called Buphthalmos which required attention, expressing a hope that Hive could provide support. Overall, the entire outreach was impactful, providing free medical screening, drugs, and contact lenses. Many thanks to Hive for this amazing work.

100 people is a huge number. I hope the child gets the necessary treatments because it’s a good thing that it was diagnosed earlier before the condition gets worse.
Many people today are suffering from a lot of eye infection without even knowing there’s a problem with their sight only to show up at a later date when it’s more damaging. Kudos to you guys for such great service to humanity.
Thank you @mviews. We are still working on the child's case to see how best we can support her. We had a similar case in one of our outreaches, and @mcsamm and I were able to help. You can watch the story here - The story of an elderly woman who receives a gift from Hive. Just like you said, it was good that the condition was diagnosed early. If we make any progress with her treatment, we will share her story. We believe this is a good endeavor, and we intend to keep it up with the hope that many people with health issues, especially those who are underprivileged, get diagnosed and receive the support they need. Thank you to everyone on Hive for supporting us.

Buphthalmos is seen as a sign in infants and kids with glaucoma, what happens is that the pressure in the eye pushes against the cornea causing it to become bigger than it ought to, the pressure could cause breakages in the cornea layers which could result in scaring and blindness if not dealt with
Thank you Dr. for the education and also for your great effort towards the outreach
