Making Impacts

The Hive Communities Project started off with an ambitious yet moving mission to provide clean water to those in underprivileged communities. A dream that was once big and ambitious has grown into a movement of change, touching lives in ways we could never imagine. And from these boreholes now completed, in excess of 10,000 people have access to safe, clean water. This coming Sunday, 15th December 2024, is a momentous occasion as we inaugurate the 18th borehole in the Asenua community.

It has been a tedious journey: we have had to travel to far places, stepped out of our comfort zones to make long journeys on bumpy roads all in our attempt to make a difference. Each location brought different challenges but today all toil have proven worthwhile. All the challenges remind us why this mission matters: Clean water is more than a basic need—it’s a transforming resource.

It helps in the betterment of health conditions, prevents waterborne diseases, and decreases daily encumbrances associated with searching for water over long distances. This 18th borehole is a sign to the people of Asenua a sign of empowerment, a shining future. It symbolizes good health, new possibilities, and assurances of success for generations to come. Sunday will be a day of joy for all who made this project possible.

The Hive blockchain has been very instrumental in turning this vision into reality. The thing with Hive is that it’s more than just some innovative use of blockchain technology, but an exact illustration of how active and innovative decentralized communities could be in solving real-life problems for lasting impact. We are happy about the role Hive has played in making this lasting impact which will be there for future generation to witness.

We are happy to inaugurate and to celebrate this milestone with the people of Asenua who have prepared towards the launch and can't wait to experience the moment. There will be media attending to commemorate the event and to share an amazing story on how lives are being turned around through Hive. This will be a great moment of transformation, a moment where a real life impact with the blockchain technology would be made ones again.

This Sunday, we would love to see more Hivers from Ghana in Asenua for the celebration: the unveiling of the 18th borehole would be a time of celebrating clean water. Together, we have achieved much, but that is only the start. We hope to see many more impacts like this in the years ahead and to continue sharing about digital transformation that has been made possible through the Hive ecosystem.
