Stuck in my head forever

Why do you want to relocate to another state, my friend Ifeoma asked

I want to have experience of how other states are, what they look like not stories that I have heard, I replied her

And of all the states you want to visit, is Port Harcourt you saw? What happened to Ogun state, delta, and even Edo state? She asked me further.

Well, I don't have anybody in those states you mentioned, and is like something is drawing me to Port Harcourt, so Port Harcourt it is I told her as a matter of fact

All right, it seems your mind is made up, she said, giving up.

Ifeoma has always been my friend since my first day in Lagos; her mother used to have a shop around where my aunty sells. We actually became friends as a result of her mother and my aunty being friends. Now, I was leaving Lagos for another state.

I was going to miss her but I have always wanted to experience what others states are like.,early the next day ifeoma came as early as possible to see me off to the park.
I left for Port Harcourt.

When I got to Port Harcourt, my cousin was already waiting for me in the park, so we left for her house. A few weeks after I arrived in Port Harcourt, I got a job as a salesgirl; I was happy cause I needed to leave the house instead of being alone and bored every time my cousins went out.

I made new friends, my first friend was my landlady's only daughter charity, she was very fond of me, I really don't know why she liked me so much that she does everything to make me happy, if am discussing with her and say am craving for white rice and pepper soup, she will buy it immediately.

Gradually, charity and I friendship blossomed into sisterhood together with another of our friend who lives in the compound, Her name is Mercy.

We are an inseparable trio; anywhere you see one, the rest are there except on working days, but on evenings of working days, we are always together in Charity room watching television or playing indoor games.

One day, my cousins called me and say I noticed that your friendship with this girl has grown so much. I hope they haven't initiated you into their nonsense lifestyle.

What nonsense lifestyle are you talking about? I asked her, confused as to what she was talking about.

Your friend Charity is a lesbian, and your friend Mercy is a stripper and a lesbian, too she said.

I snapped at her almost immediately; wait, so you are among the people spreading rumors about my friends, I know you don't like her, but why would you make this kind of story about them. I know you to be better than this, I said angrily.

I didn't let her finish; I walked out, but somewhere deep down, a part of me believed it while the other part refused to believe it. Out of curiosity, I decided to watch my friends closely to find out if it was true but nothing.

It was not only my cousin that has said that; many are saying it. So one night I told them I was going to bed and I left them, I just opened my door, and I remembered I left my charge, normal I would call her through the window to give me the charger but I just went straight open the door to a scene I never imagined to behold before.

I stood at the door and frozen; they were shocked to see me, and the thing that came out of Mercy's mouth was why did you come back. I was like a zombie; I just walked past them, picked up my charger, and walked out. Charity tries to stop me, but I shake her off.

In fact, I left that environment cause I couldn't stand seeing their faces, the fingers pointing at me as one of them.

Till date, anytime I go to that environment, I wish I could unseen that scenario out of my head, but it sucks forever.

Thank 💕 you for stopping by my blog

I can only imagine how you felt after finding out for yourself what people say those you call your friends truely are, even painful to think that others think you're same as them because you move with them.

Even when she told me that she has stop, I didn't go back to Being her friend again
