Buying and eating from the street is one of the common habits of bachelors. As a bachelor, you have to make an effort to cook at least once a week to supplement your eating habits from the street.
Preparing a simple soup or stew is of essence, and the common reasons why most bachelors do not cook are because we do not have the habit and skills of cooking simple foods.
In Ghana, there are various simple foods that you can prepare to supplement your weekly food consumption. Preparing what to eat is a crucial aspect of a bachelor as you prepare to go into marriage. There may be times that you will be invited to act as a chef in the kitchen; in a case like this, you must not disgrace the brotherhood. Actually, you must make the brotherhood proud by exhibiting your cooking skills to let the women know we are not only good in the inner room. Thanks to the internet, today there are so many dishes you can prepare by looking at simple videos as a guide if you do not know the methods of preparing them.
This very week, as a bachelor, I decided to prepare myself against the upcoming week by frying some chicken and fish and keeping them in the fridge.
This makes it simple for me and reduces the stress of constant cooking. I only have to microwave, and I'm on track. As a bachelor or even as a married man, it's not all the time that your wife may be at home. There are times she may travel. On occasions like these, you will be forced to cook by yourself, so as long as there is an opportunity to learn this life skill while you are still a bachelor, make the effort of cooking for yourself. If not all the time, at least once a week or once in a while will enhance your cooking skills and also make the kitchen tools get to work.
I went to the market this week, bought a kilo of tilapia and a kilo of layer chicken. Slice them into pieces and wash them with enough water. Got my saucepan, blended some natural spices like ginger, garlic, onions, and pepper. I steamed them together with the fish and meat.
I got my frying pan, which has been sitting in the kitchen for ages without getting to work, poured some sunflower oil into it, and waited a little for the oil to heat.
Next, I started dropping the steamed chicken, followed by the tilapia. In a few minutes I had a brownish look, and I quickly got it out of the oil. Guess what, I have a fried, appetizing, mouthwatering product. I waited for it to cool down and kept it in the fridge.
Whenever I get any food, I'm heading straight to the fridge and getting a portion of it microwaved to sort out my hunger. It was fun and adventurous preparing this fried meat.
