Hello guys welcome back to my blog. I trust you had a lovely and memorable day.
I remember back then in primary and high school when I had to wear a school uniform every day to school; the hardest part of wearing the uniform was ironing or rather pressing it because we wanted so much to iron it to perfection, where the pleats would stand out visibly on their own.
Burning my school uniform while ironing was also a very frequent occurrence, especially in my primary school days when I hadn't really learned how to control the regulator of the pressing iron. Until I learned how to properly use the iron.
What are your thoughts on schools moving away from school uniforms and allowing students to wear whatever they want? Would it be a yes or a no for you?
The idea of wearing a school uniform has its pros and it's cons, but for me, the pros outweigh the cons, so I will prefer sticking to the wearing of uniforms.
There are several reasons why wearing a uniform in schools, especially at the elementary and high school levels, is advisable.
Some of the reasons why I would choose wearing a school uniform to school include:
Wearing school uniforms to school makes everyone, or rather every child, appear equal, no matter the class or social status of the child. It prevents a situation where some children from the not-so-privileged homes get intimidated by children from privileged homes due to their dressing, making these other children feel left out or like they don't belong in the class.
But with the wearing of school, everyone appears uniform and equal without any form of social strata. The children also are better able to express themselves as regards their learning process, and it also provides them with a sense of belonging and a feeling of inclusion.
School uniforms provide a form of identity. I remember one time while we were in high school, after the close of school, some of the senior students went to swim in a river close to our school.
A lady who lives close to our school and was familiar with the principal was the one who called the principal and reported to him that some of his students were still in the neighborhood even after school had been dismissed a long time ago and were swimming in a river. The reason she was able to recognize that they were from my school was because of their uniform. So for me, I think it is a good practice.
With school uniforms, the students can actually focus on the reason why they are in school. It reduces distractions that can be caused by parents who want to adorn their children with expensive clothing.
You can imagine a child from a privileged home walking into a class with a flashy outfit, the other children will immediately leave what they are doing and begin to stare at this child that just walks in. But with school uniforms, everyone will be smartly dressed in their uniforms, with no one causing any sort of distraction.
So yeah, I think schools should continue with school uniforms for everyone to prevent some of these occurrences stated above; after all, at the college level, there are no uniforms there; you can wear whatever you want to without the permission of the school authority.

This reminds me of how I learned how to iron. I get it that it’s really annoying ironing uniforms, hehe. I believe that’s how most of learned how to iron actually.
Also, I like the fact that you said uniforms make students focus on being students. I can imagine the kind of unhealthy competition mufti would create in schools.
