Social media platforms offer a glimpse into a candidate's personality and online presence. Hence the need for an individual to always be conscious of contents posted on your social media handles. Social media platforms should be a place of valuable resources for learning and development. It should be a place where people showcase their skills, experience and personalities for people to see and this gives one the visibility to be sought after. A Lot of companies use social media accounts as a criteria before offering a Job and also a good number of people have lost their Jobs because of their insultive responses on social media and the kind of content they create, posting irrelevant things that will never make them visible to potential employers.
Social media is no doubt a place or platform that allows users to have fun, create, share and interact with each other. People come together to connect with others worldwide thereby building relationships. In here a lot of people socialize and gain Good Jobs from the social media platform through the information and the knowledge they get from here and also people tend to lose their Jobs too because of the kind of post they make.
A Lot of people tend to share their private lives on social media, paving the way for scammers to get more precise information about them before going ahead to scam them and also an avenue for people getting to know you more better even before getting to meet you in person because of the kind of things you share as content which gives either a Good or a bad conclusion about the kind of person you are. In the quest for being a content creator, a lot of people have taken to posting contents that are abusive, insultive and inappropriate just to be popular without regarding the harm it does to their social life. A Lot of people have taken to cyberbullying and online abuse once they create a content which is inappropriate and anyone tries to talk about it they unleash their abuses on such an individual.
Lots of Companies use social Media platforms as a criteria for hiring basically using social media information as well as posts to screw their intended applicants. With the advent of technology, labours can be hired and fired without a physical meeting point. As a result of this many people will be cautious of their activities online and it will curb the excessive contents people create on social media in order to be popular. When they know they have an integrity to protect, I think with this the quest to reduce or curb a lot of illicit acts will be checked. People will be careful about what they share on social media. They will be intentional about maintaining online privacy.
