Good afternoon everyone. Welcome to my blog. Special thanks to @hive.ghana for this week's prompts.
As we all bid farewell to the first half of 2024, it's very important to reflect on our journey so far. So I'll say thank you again to @hive.ghana for the prompts this week. As humans we all have experienced success, setbacks, and growth. There's a story behind this aspect of our lives and it's always great to share our stories, celebrate achievements, and then look forward to the second half of the year with great energy and also purpose.
My First Half of 2024:
I was able to complete my 1st semester in school despite a lot of challenges and circumstances that I faced. From my results being delayed, to some of my coursemates having clashes with our lecturers leading to a case of no classes or being ignored by some of the lecturers and then not even having the time to study at all.
And the second thing is, I was able to lay my mom to rest. After 3 times of planning and failing because of one thing or the other. We were able to plan and execute it. We laid her to rest on the 26th of April. Yea it eas a great achievement because it took 7 months, that's a lot of time, resources wasted and the rest.
And yes I faced challenges. Somehow my health was affected, i was mentally stressed and then planning a funeral with having to attend school and then the assignments , tests and even exams. It was difficult at some point.
Lessons learned: I realized what it was like with people out there. The stress it took to become an adult. You had to handle things no matter how hard things were, with younger siblings, there had to be an assurance that everything was going to be alright. I knew the importance of taking care of ones self especially when you have the time and resources, and I also learnt how to persevere and also I learned how to adapt but through the hard way 😂.
Looking Ahead to the Second Half:
This new half I plan to set new targets. I have a lot of things on my table to do and my exams fast approaching, infact in days I'll be done with my 3rd year in school. And to achieve all this I will have to break the work into smaller bits and perhaps try to seek accountability too.
The second half was already planned for this. I really want to commit to grow personally e.g.take courses, or develop new habits, try new hobbies and then also get to spoil myself too you know😌☺️.
We can all see and agree that the first half of 2024 has been a time of beginning a journey of growth, and learning. As we start the second half, it's good and okay to say it's the time to embrace new opportunities, build on our strengths and help our weakness and then with courage face our fears and challenges.
