Happenings in the country

In Nigeria, there's never a lack of trends, whether good or bad. In fact, it has been mostly bad recently, and it keeps getting worse every day.

The beginning of this week saw the internet on fire when a serving youth corps member posted a video lamenting how bad the country is. Since she is currently working under the government, her supervisor reached out to her, instructing her to take down the video with threats. In response, the lady went ahead and posted the supervisor’s threat message online, and that was when trouble started.

In a country like mine, people in authority can do something bad, cover it up, and no one will know. The lady saw the threat as a serious issue and took it personally, fearing for her life, worried that she could be kidnapped or killed without a trace. As she spoke out, people rallied behind her, calling out the government and ensuring no harm came to her. The matter was still being dragged, but before we knew it, another trend, a bigger one with even more trouble, emerged, making everyone completely forget about the corps member’s issue with the government.

This time, the president of my country suspended the governor of a particular state due to political troubles there. I do not know much about politics, but a lot of people have argued that a president does not have the right to suspend an elected governor. However, the president is the kind of person who makes decisions without caring about public opinion. He suspended the governor, his deputy, and all their followers, then appointed another person to temporarily oversee the state’s affairs until things returned to normal.

While this may seem normal on the surface, the real issue lies in the fact that the key figures behind this decision are individuals with long-standing questionable records. That is where the real trouble begins.

This is the current trend, and both the president and the affected state have been the talk of the nation.

Thanks!

I’m kind of curious as to what he actually did for him to be suspended.
