Art to me is a way of communication , a way of preserving past memories/history, way of educating and passing secret information from one generation to another. Most times Art doesn't give the full details of an event. Not all art tells the truth and not all art has a positive impact on society just as the popular saying goes "every good thing has its negative side" so does art.
For me, I look beyond the beauty of color combinations and images on a piece of art to find the true message behind the painting because I believe there should be a message passed. Although nowadays artist no longer give meaning to art such as the likes of Leonardo Davinci and many other great artist who speak to the world through art. For me art is a way of expressing one's feeling or emotion through painting. I love art not just for its beautification but also for its ability to preserve history and its ability to communicate. Some pieces of art helps you to reason beyond just the basic view of images on a painting. Artwork helps you to get some answers about life and meaning to some certain occurrences in life.
Every artwork has it message at which it passes, it may be positive or negative it all depends on the artist or the aspect at which you are seeing the art work, over the years art work has been a big deal in the world were master piece and original copies are sold for a fortune, unlike this our generation where only few people value art works and some persons get paintings or other art works just for beautification purposes which is fair but not okay to me because art has more than just beautification. Don't get me twisted as I also love art for its beautification purposes but I love understanding every detail or information shared in a piece of art.
Aspect at which art work affects life Like I said earlier, artworks have both positive and negative impacts on society. Some persons see painting or some other piece of art and try to imitate it character without understanding it meaning for example some persons see a piece of artwork which shows a half naked woman in a fancy exposed dress, they will like the art work which is nice but they will also want to replicate what they saw on the art work just because they love the kind of dress used in the painting and this are things really affecting our society. In some cases , because of a certain creature which they saw in an artwork, they will want to restructure or remodify their face just to look like the creature, which is very bad.
As for the positive effect art work helps to promote our culture and tradition and helps to guide and remind our society of how life has been and how life should be, it also show the hardships at which people pass through in life, which helps to give us hope and to soften our heart to help those who are in need. The positive impact of art as I have stated are the things that really makes me love artworks and artists who create them.God bless all artists who try to promote societal values and also preserve our culture…
