Hello everyone, welcome to my page.
I am not the fun of story books but seeing this prompt reminded me of a book I read back in high school, I consider it to be my favorite because of the way the storyline goes.
Ananse in the land of idiots.
I am sure Ghanaian students who completed high school are familiar with the story since it was given to us as a literature book to read.
It tells a story about a folk character called Ananse. Ananse who sets out on a journey from his community and later on found himself exploring in the land of idiots where he got arrested for eating food that was meant for the gods.
After his arrest, he was brought before the chief of the community and the sentence on him was death. But the tricky Ananse manages to convince the chief to allow him to weave the most finest and beautiful cloths no one has ever seen in the lands to the princess who is betrothed to the prince for which the chief allowed him. Meanwhile, Ananse has his agenda. He named the tools he will be needing for his work and a place he will like to sit and weave, he also requested an idiot who will be running his errands for him.
In the end, Ananse succeeds in fooling everyone in the community, eliminating the prince and impersonating the prince, getting married to the princess, and taking off with the princess and the chief’s property.
The story is about the carelessness that prevails in the Ghanaian society.
I stop here by saying thank you to the hive Ghana community for giving us such an educative contest.
I'm not so sure but this story seems familiar. I may have read it but that was a long time ago.
Now thus a classic, i know this one, these Kweku Ananse stories always have interesting back stories to them one that you would love and you just reminded me of a classic
