Hello, everyone.
I welcome you to my blog. Sometimes we do not realize how much someone out there needs the little things we take for granted and show no appreciation at all. Everyone deserves to be appreciated for every little effort put in. In our world today, many people only appreciate great wins and forget that even for the little wins, one had to put in a lot of effort to get them. I have worked under a boss who never appreciates the effort of employees, no matter how an employee tries to please him; he continues to see only where they made mistakes.

Nothing weakens an employee, like when there's no motivation to keep going. Yes, they get paid, but that is not enough. A little appreciation from the boss or superior can boost morale. This is why many workers quit or want to only work with a colleague who will serve as a source of motivation. There are some colleagues that have negative energy; they complain a lot and try to discourage one from working wholeheartedly for the company or whoever they work for.
Sometime back I worked at a construction site and was picked to work as an errand boy for the senior engineer there. It was boring work as I had to sit down by his office and sometimes in it when he's less busy. I only had work to do when he needed me to go get something or in the early hours of the day when I sweep his office. It was boring, but the fun part is earning the same amount as those doing heavy work. Though the work was less stressful, I still did the job wholeheartedly.
The engineer got to like me because even before he picked me to be his boy, his younger brother had already sung praises of my name and how hardworking I was. He saw for himself and confirmed it; he always appreciated my every effort, and that alone gave me the motivation to do more because who doesn't like praise?
One day he asked for my number, saying he does not like that I am always alone; I can go be with my friends where they work, and he can call me over the phone whenever he needs my service. I had no phone then, so I told him I don't have a phone, and he said no problem then, and we went on with our activities for that day and week.
The following week, he called me to his office and gave me a customized leather bag showing that the owners sell gadgets and accessories. This man bought a phone for me. Though it was a small phone just for phone calls, my joy knew no bounds; he appreciated me for my hard work. It might be a small thing from his end, but on my end, he did me a huge favor. We all ought to appreciate people, whether superior or subordinate.
