Fashion and dressing in today's world, it's something we can't do without. We always want to look good whenever we step out of our house for various occasions. We mainly know about Western dressing and African dressing when it comes to fashion and dressing, but my preference no doubt is the African style of dressing.

The African style of dressing is not just about the use of colors. It includes unique patterns that exude royalty showing our rich cultural heritage.
It also has a unique feature that can enable you to trace it back to its roots ranging from Ankara and lace materials that are popular in Nigeria and the kente designs which are popular in Ghana. The African way of dressing is more than just fashion and clothing style, it is a way of life, and it reflects the vibrant culture of our continent.
Western dressing is popular and it gives off a classic and elegant look, The African style of dressing is unique and authentic and celebrates our rich cultural heritage. They are both unique in their ways and I think they have occasions they are suitable for though the Western style has influenced us a lot. The Western style of dressing is what we can wear to work, outings, and maybe dinner dates and some other engagements.
We shouldn't forget to always showcase our culture and heritage when we have the opportunity to. I am from the Urhobo a tribe in Nigeria whose traditional attire involves men to tie wrappers with a shirt of their choice and a hat. Most men don't want to even tie the wrapper again even if the occasion calls for it.
African style and fashion is kind of a fusion of modern trends with traditional elements and it provides a sense of diversity I don't think it can be found in Western dressing. It is not just about the clothes, it embodies our identity and heritage.
