Helo friends!
Welcome to my blog.
Looking at this week's topic on "Home" I greatly accept to the fact that different people have their different perspectives about a home, thus some consider it to be a building where they can only return from their daily work to rest, others consider it to be a place where they have peace of mind, others a place of luxurious living, and other a place of comfort etc.
It's all amazing, but I often believe that what works for one might not work for another person, so I would say that a building is not a home for me although it's important because it's a part of my basic needs.
I would say that a home is a complex and multifaceted concept that encompasses physical, emotional, and social aspects as far as life is concerned, because it's our emotional, physical, mental and spiritual well-being that helps beautifies a home and it's achieved by coming together to create a space that nourishes and uplifts our spirit.
Apart from seeing it as a physical structure where I get live sleep, eat and relax, i also considered a home to be a place of comfort, where I feel safe, relaxed, get connected with family, friends, community and loved ones, a place where I can reflect on my values, also a place where I could enjoy a peace of mind, because I value my emotional mental, spiritual and physical health in any environment i find myself, it's a factor that contributes greatly in my achievements and successes, so when it's drained or unstable, it's affects all aspects of my life.
A home is also a place where I hold memories of laughter, tears, and special moments, a place where love resides, a place of peace, security and comfort as earlier said. Although I always value the serenity of the environment I live in as well, the beautiful natural light, fresh breeze, beautiful and colorful palette and patterns that could create a unique atmosphere, a garden etc, but all this can be acquired with money but there are certain factors about a home that can't be brought, and those are my trills in considering a place as a home.
I consider these factors because of what I've seen others suffer and what I've experienced some months back, I don't consider a toxic environment as a home, a place of constant fight, misunderstanding, restlessness etc, because they tend to affect me negatively, reasons being that i grew up in an environment where there is love, peace, security etc though we were not perfect but at least i enjoyed those factors earlier mentioned, so that is why i consider them as a necessary factor in calling a place a home.
Although finding myself in such a toxic environment only drills one habit out in me, which is keeping late nights, or seeking a place of comfort outside the place I live in. A place where I have peace of mind, feel loved, as well as love, and a place of comfort and security. This is a place i consider as a home.
