The home! The home to many is a dwelling place that has a structure, a physical building where people resides and a place where house chores are being carried out. No wonder people, both young and old when trying to leave wherever they are will say, I'm going home, which means, I am going to the of my residence, a place where I lay my head to sleep.

But, to be candid, the word home can be deeper than a place of residence alone, it might be a place where children are being raised, a resting place or an abiding place of affection among the families. So, with these deeper meanings of a home, one would now understand that a home is not just made of structures but of human that made up of the structure and the affections that the home is known for.

So, going with the different meaning of home, one of those meaning that struck my heart is that of affection. So, the word affection which is synonymous to love can be seen as the best words for home and this is because of the power that is associated with the word affection.

So, the home to me as a person is more of affection and feelings to the other things that can be ascribed to it. Now like I said before, the home is not just about the bricks lay on one another, but the love that exist among each of the family members, no wonder there's a saying in my local language that says, if the home is not sweet, the society will be like a mess. Going with this saying, one thing I have noticed is that what controls homes is love and affection, and whenever love is taking out of what you called your own home, then the home is nothing. So, when the home is sweet, then the individual in the society feels happy and loved.

Sometimes ago, I used to be at a particular place and this place has to be a staff club of a university in my area where people used to enjoy themselves after the day's work. But there's this professor that will not leave the place until all are left. So, this has always been the usual happenings over and again and I was only wondering as to why this old professor will not leave until everyone has left for their various home.

So, on a particular Friday evening after we've all enjoyed ourselves and time together, and when all were set to leave, I walked up to the professor and had a chat with him. So, it's in the course of our chat that I got to know that the professor had always love to staying out late just to avoid his troublesome wife at home. The prof was like, son and I said yes, he said do you know why I have always stayed behind till late in the night before going home and I replied no, he said, I'm always trying to getting home late just to avoid my troublesome wife's trouble, he said before he gets home, the wife would've slept off and before she wakes in the morning he would have left for work again. He said, he's not really enjoying his HOME.

So, for an old and accomplished man with years of experience at work and even aside that, with grown up children around the world to have this kind of bitter experience about his home is so pathetic and what this means is that the home is beyond the bricks or the structure put in place and this is because if properly checked, this man house would be one of the best on his street, but the big and beautiful mansion could not actually give him peace and happy home, but bitterness.

So, feeling and affection to me is the best definition of a home. A home is more of a good relationship of love among members of the family and not the structure being put in place. "I'm going home," "I'm going home" is not just about the physical structure put in place, but to go and enjoy the love and affection that exist among all the members of the family. So, if there's peace and love among the members of the family at home, surely the home will be calling us to come, but if the reverse is the case, no one will wants to go home. No wonder there's a popular saying that says, Home sweet home, the home can only be sweet when there's love and good feeling. One will always wants to be home when all is well.

This is my entry to the hiveghana weekly prompt.

Right! It’s about the affection in the house if not, a home will just be a house or let’s just say the physical structure
