I don’t even remember how to start writing a post🤦🏽♀️.
Any way, earlier this month, I had to attend a conference on behalf of the female leaders in my school. This conference was supposed to come off earlier but it got postponed and the new date was unexpected. It came around the same time I planned to go home for Eid and I almost, almost did not go home.
I woke up the next morning and decided to go home, long story short, I left for the trip on 30th June and arrived in Accra on 1st July.
The conference was supposed to be 3 days but I had already missed the first two days.
So I quickly got to the venue and got ready. I didn’t even get to close my eyes 😑.
We had quite a number of activities for the day and the first one was a health talk on menstrual hygiene and cervical cancer.
We had two health personnels who really went into details about what we need to know and how to prevent some of these infections. The scary one though was the cervical cancer. The rate at which females are diagnosed with it is quite alarming.
Right after, these health personnels took us through a health screening on syphilis, typhoid, weight and heart rate. I was quite excited when the lady said my heart beats like that of a 12 year old and I tested negative for all the others as well.
After this session, we had some snacks and prepared for the next activity which was a talk with Yvonne Nelson. She was probably the most trending celebrity in Ghana during that period as a result of her book she released and all that came with it.
We had a lengthy discussion with her. She shared so many things about how she is able to channel all negative vibes into achieving her goals.
Mid way, we were joined by another lady who was the former USAG(University Students Association of Ghana) Women’s commissioner.
Right from the moment the lady spoke till she ended, I was fascinated. Everything about how she talked and carried herself was admirable.
When we were done, we took pictures with her one after the other. Pictures which seem to have disappeared into thin air cause I’ve not heard anything about them since.
It was already evening by then and we were to get ready for the last activity which was a dinner.
So I quickly went back to change into a more suitable outfit and joined my colleagues as we made our way to the hotel.
We arrived and we were told it’s a cocktail dinner which we are to stand through. If there’s one thing I hate, it’s to stand longer than a minute. So I was wondering how I’m going to endure standing for a whole event listening to people talk.
After a while, I got busy with all the things I could eat and drink. We had some very important personalities talk to us but in all honesty, I don’t know what they said because my focus was on what I could eat. But I did learnt a thing or two from them. And one thing about these events, you get to expand your network.
The program eventually came to an end and I had to loosen my belt to be able to breathe.
Aside all this, I had a hard time on the journey and everything else but for once, I don’t want to talk about those things. I was actually writing in my notes everything that was happening during the journey because I thought something really bad was going to happen. In my head, my people could read what I wrote and know what happened to me😂. It’s funny now, but it wasn’t funny then.
All pictures without the USAG tag are mine

I’m surprised how you missed the first 2 days. This sounds like something I wouldn’t want to miss.
The one day you did go to be a part of sounds fun. I’m sire you enjoyed it a lot, especially the talk-with-Yvonne part. I’m sure she had a lot to say.
I do that thing with writing notes during journeys I feel are going to go wrong sometimes too. Lol I don’t know why my mind thinks that sometimes, and I find it hilarious after almost journey I’be thought that about ends safely.
I didn’t want to miss but I had to be home for Eid too. This year has been so much about school so I just needed a little break.
I was expecting to see you on the podium or on the screen. Lol😄
You've been visiting my account regularly and you've not been writing. I'm curious and want to know why she's not been writing
I added you as a favorite author so I’m alerted whenever you make a post.
I’ve not been writing even though I have a thousand things to write about.
I can’t really give an excuse
But I will resume soon. I’m just trying to meet some deadlines and free my mind
Okayy.
It's fine, I understand.
I wish I can write for you. Lol😅
