Social media can serve as a judgement tool

I think people should be judged by what they do on social media. Social media gives you an idea of how a person is. Social media shows you a person's interests, how the person thinks and the things that the person derives joy from.

Most of the things people post on social media are products of their thoughts. It's something they have cooked in their minds and dished on social media.

For instance, there are people who enjoy being bullies on social media. They take advantage of the slightest opportunity to insult people online. They derive joy from running down people on social media. It's almost certain that such people would be that way in reality. They may try to suppress it in real life to an extent, but deep down, that's who they are.

One thing that reveals people's true character is freedom. Social media provide the freedom to say what you want without having to deal with consequences. As a result of this, people showcase characters on social media that is an amplified version of what they showcase in real life.

In addition, from a person's social media activities, you can tell what that person is into. You can determine if that person is into fashion, music, art or even tech. People post and talk about what they are passionate about. Someone who is into fashion would do stuff on social media relating to fashion and even follow fashion trends.

If someone showcases an extravagant lifestyle on social media, even though it may be fake, it goes a long way to tell you what goes on in that person's mind. It shows that that person has an extravagant mindset deep down, even if that person isn't rich in real life.

To further buttress the fact that people can be judged by their social media profile, some companies request the social media handles of people they want to employ. They do this because they want to have an idea who the person they are about to employ is. They want to know if that person is really into that specific career.
Furthermore, such companies want to confirm the character of the individual they want to employ. Through social media, they can confirm if the individual has a questionable character or if the individual has an impressive character.

Most of these companies understand that reputation is of the utmost importance, so they try to make sure that the reputation of their employee both on social media and in real life is a noble one.

People have lost opportunities (and I mean lucrative opportunities) because of their character on social media. People have damaged relationships that would have been of help to them because of how they behave on social media. Once again, I will reiterate that I am of the opinion that social media is a good basis for judging people.

Social media can be either good or bad, depending on how it is used. And I agree with your points, people hide behind it to say and do things they cannot or doesn't have the privilege to do in real life. From people post, you can actually know who they are and what you'll be dealing with.

This is something that I was telling someone yesterday
Social media gives people freedom that they do not have in real life
It gives people the audacity they do not have
So whatever you see people say on social it shows the person they are because that’s when they even the chance to do what they do
