Guilds of Gods - The Idle Incremental MMORPG

Guilds of Gods

When @jaegar and I set out to create Guilds of Gods, we had one simple vision. We wanted to create the best idle incremental MMORPG we could.

The Idle Incremental MMORPG

Lets break that title down,

Idle

Part of our core vision was creating a mmo where active playing is fun and rewarding, but alleviating the traditional grind with simple built-in idle mechanics.

An example of this is what we call camps. A player can create camps, such as a woodcutting camp, out of wood, a saw and an axe. They may then Operate the camp, and their player will automatically begin chopping nearby trees and returning the wood to camp. You as the player may take this short break to go make yourself a cup of tea or a coffee. Higher level players can create better camps, allowing them to camp for hours.

Incremental

As you play, you'll find your rate of experience gain increases. You will find the pace at which you do things get faster. You will find your party increasing in size, giving your more adventurers to control at a time. You will find your stacks of gold and favor growing at this same increasing rate.

MMO

Guilds of Gods is a MMO, which means a massive multiplayer online game. Once you log in, you will be in a world with other players from around the world. You can talk to these players, train together, barter, and more. You can be allies and take on The Obelisk and The Emperor together, or you can be foes are duke it out on PvP Island.

RPG

You take on a new persona as you step foot on the continent of Eloria. You, an adventurer and new inhabitant on Eloria, have come to the continent to join a guild and help protect the Elorian people from the tyrannical emperor. Eloria is a role playing game where you choose your life in this open world sandbox experience.

Platforms

GuildsOfGods.com/play.png

Guilds of Gods is a browser based game, and therefore runs on any browser, whether PC, Mac, Android or iOS.

The recommended experience is playing directly from our website on a PC/Game in the Google Chrome browser.

On PC, you can play the game directly off our website at guildsofgods.com/play, or you can find us on itch.io and newgrounds.com.

On Android, you can play either in your web browser at guildsofgods.com/play, or on the Android App Store in Early Access.

On iOS, you can play in your web browser at guildsofgods.com/play

Tech

V68Screen3.PNG

The game is built entirely in NodeJS, using the PixiJS library to handle rendering. We use Firebase as our database engine. Past that, everything is built entirely from scratch, and is powered by our own custom game engine.

We use Cordova to cross-compile the NodeJS client to Android, and will use Cordova to compile the iOS version once Android is fully stabilized.

Upcoming Developments

V68Screen.PNG

Patch V68 is in the works right now, and with it comes a few exciting changes.

  • We have upgraded our rendering from using Pixi V4 to Pixi V5
    • This opened up earlier Z-layering and post processing effects
  • We have added Z-layering to the game
  • We have added day/night cycles and shadows via post processing effects
  • We are working on a interactive minimap, with icons showing store locations and other important landmarks

A early version of V68 is up on the public test server for player testing right now!

We also have other exciting developments, such as a Discord bot in the works which will communicate with the live game servers. In-game events will be broadcasted to the Discord, such as emperor invasions will be posted to the #events channel while player created market stalls will be posted to the #market channel.

Development Streams

We stream development every single Sunday at 11am PST on Twitch.tv. This is the perfect place to talk to the development team, ask questions, give your suggestions and hangout.

Stay in Touch

On top of blogging here on HIVE and on Twitch, we also have a active Discord. That is the best way to get ahold of us.

Wow! I think the game is fun and exciting. I've never played a game like that before. Maybe I should give it a try.

Hey I really like the concept. Looking forward to see its development, congrats !!

Thank you! We'll be posting whenever we have an update to share, so stay tuned :)

You should make all the assets NFTs and all the currencies FTs. We should talk. Join me in splinterlands or hive-engine discord and let's set a time.

Hey @aggroed, nice to see you here!

@jaegar and I have been talking in private about doing something from a NFT/FT perspective. We have not committed to which platform we'd be going for, but I'm sure you can clear up our questions about NFTs/FTs/Hive Smart Contracts.

We'll pop in and schedule a chat

Oh yes! Massive kudos, to the cheat/theft "team". Your so-called awesome "team", is made up some of the biggest original insider thieves who literally stole tens/hundreds of thousands of dollars of other peoples money and assets that did not belong to them, or did not acquire them with their own "investments", like everyone else from the very beginning, and then a whole lot more. Now they are also getting compounding returns on the assets and income they continuously derive, that doesn't legitimately belong to them, as well as all of the loopholes and special access you gave them with their "code". You all new about this, but not only was nothing done about it, it was deliberately kept quiet and covered up, and then you all literally rewarded the theft and cheating by giving some of them team member status AFTER it was made aware to you all (you already knew about it anyway).

That's right. You literally went and hired the worst of the worst of the scumbags, thieves and cheats, even after you were fully aware of their actions. That needed to be repeated. Was this based on some kind of genuine merit system, or something else, considering all of the above? Who the fuck hires people and makes them a part of their organisational structure (and pays them a regular income, while having a direct conflict of interest in-game), when they knew all of this? What was the payoff @aggroed? Are you going to reimburse any of that stolen money or assets back to the "community", (a word you love to throw around as a PR stunt) who funded the cost of it all, and those peoples very existence around here?

To this day nobody has directly responded to the cheating allegations which can be backed up with evidence, that was provided at the time.....of course it was completely ignored and the theft continued, and still does to this day in other various forms because of that special access with "code", to your special class of butt lickers made up of giant stakeholders with big wallets.

Screw you, and your lard brothers who constantly have their tongues firmly entrenched in your butthole and deliberately work in unison to trash and marginalise anyone who dares have a different opinion than others, or asks legitimate fucking questions that you don't want to answer honestly. They even do it on their own podcast, by trying to deliberately tarnish others reputations, and then literally contradict themselves the very next "episode", when the same message is coming from a different, but "approved source".

Funnily enough, when some less revealing and damaging concerns or questions are raised at a much later date by others who are deemed to have "approved opinions" and even team member status, then suddenly you are all on board. Forget about the original messenger - they must be crushed and left aside. As long as you can control the entire conversation and PR, then it's given your stamp of approval. Anyone outside of the "approved for comment status", needs to shut their mouths just in case they mention something we don't like. No problem in allowing the very same original thieves and cheats in taking over and controlling it all, because they are your babies. Some of the same insiders.

You think I'm the only one who believes/knows this? You would be wrong. Anyone who dares question any of this is crushed from the top down, and then all the mindless dipshits just pile on as well, because need votes and money.

When are you gonna write another cry baby post that sounds like a sulky tyrant, while speaking of peace, by way of your absurd "captain's" hypocrisy? You gonna keep throwing ludicrous labels around, because you don't like people outing your bullshit and dishonest tactics with anyone who dares to question your AUTHORITIIIIIIIIIIIIIII.

It's so fucking amusing, that the so-called "anti-authoritarians" and "freedom lovers/free speech advocates" on this platform who live in their glass towers, only care for those principles when it directly suits their own interest, or when others agree with them. Otherwise they deliberately start with the bogus name calling and sniping through their proxies. Just call people the C word, while some literally take things that don't belong to them (because they didn't actually pay for them), and then say anything to keep your lard brothers and so-called "team members" all fat and happy with their special access code and "free shit".

You don't need to be afraid of anything though, because all the gutless cheating/thieving wankers with big stakes and huge wallets will back you up all the way, for obvious reasons. Even the mindless zombies at the bottom of the trough, who don't know any better, will do the same.

You can all now enjoy the spoils at the expense of people who got wrecked by these thieves and cheats - who will continue to plunder this place until the end of time.

Your post is reblogged and upvoted by me. It is a good post. Thank you @carsonroscoe

Thank you, appreciate it

I've just tried out your game. "Idle incremental" mechanic is something brand new for me, and I like it so far.

Glad to hear :)

That is amazing how many platforms it is available on.

I need to move this up on my list of games to check out.

Thank you! The game is in alpha and still being developed, but it's been live for a while now. Do checkout, I'd love to hear your feedback

This is pretty cool. I'm trying it out right now. I'm a big fan of the idle aspect.

Awesome to hear, we hope you enjoy! :)

The game is in live alpha right now, so it's constantly being updated and improving every week.
