In these regular updates we will bring fresh content to Hive in the form of our game coding experiences; IBT is a developing PC game - the one to have future Crypto interactions.
Welcome to 2022, I hope everyone had a happy and safe new years; Now down to business, it is time to restart our weekly Hive post updates....yay!! well this is what we have been up to this week.
Ai Test worked "too well" for Animation Test
With IBT we are trying to be a little different to your standard game. We are testing things which you would not normally see like chasing things with your bare hands and drinking water from a lake while bending down etc. In some cases we find that its really hard to do this and can see why most AAA games don't have "extra" animations in them. Worse of all is when you want to test a character animation as simple as picking up a chicken. So you place a chicken down an then its AI kicks in, well sometimes things are coded too well and the chicken acts like a ..."chicken". More embarrassingly is the fact I never got to catch it, so this animation will have to be tested later.
New Tutorial Added
Hours of time has gone into the new tutorial. People tend to lose interest in games if they have no idea how to play them. With this new system we have you can press the + key any time and a help file with all movement keys will appear unlike the big billboard we used to have on the island.
The new system not only has a step by step tutorial to follow but also gives you an extra book you can refer to in your crafting menu at any stage once you finish the tutorial. This extra book explains how to build basic shelters to get you started. The tutorial is only available on the island as for the other maps you will need to know how to play.
Well, that's it for this week, shaking off the hangovers and getting stuck back in, its coming along, a few more tough weeks of bugs and fixes await as per usual.
