Cards From My Personal Collection: Roy Oswalt 2003 Donruss Baseball Card

in Trading Cards!last year

I may have not followed baseball as closely recently, but I am shocked pitcher Roy Oswalt hasn't received a little more Hall of Fame consideration.

Roy was super dominant pitcher for the Astros from 2001-2008 and was a very good pitcher for the Phillies, Rockies and Rangers from 2009-2011.

Roy is an All-Time great Astro. Oswalt earned his only three All-Star appearances with the team from 2005-2007. Roy also placed top five in Cy Young voting FIVE times with the Astros! That's an insane stat. It's a shame he never got the award once. He won 143 games and held a superb 3.24 ERA in a Houston uniform. He's in the Astros Hall of Fame, and it's very much deserved!

Oswalt was one of my favorite pitchers growing up. I liked his windup and delivery, he really threw his whole body into his pitches. He never won a World Series, but he was a key part of getting to one in 2005 with the Astros as he was named NLCS MVP.

Roy was a big signing by the Phillies in 2010 and he helped the Phillies in a huge way in the post season for two good seasons. He was 16-11 as a Phillie with an elite 2.96 ERA.

Roy retired in 2013 with a 163-102 record and a 3.36 career ERA. He had 1,852 strikeouts.
