Cards From My Personal Collection: Tony Womack 1999 SP Authentic Upper Deck

in Trading Cards!last year

This guy Tony in a full model pose in this one LOL.

This card represents Womack's final season as a Pirate kind of, 1999 he would go ahead and join other squads. Although, Pittsburgh is where Tony would earn his only individual awards. In Pittsburgh Tony was an All-Star, and would lead the NL in stolen bases three times consecutively. It's pretty cool to see the card capture when Tony did it twice in a row.

Tony would win the World Series with the Diamondbacks in 2001. Most fans probably remember him as a Diamondback as he by far played his most games there, 629 to be exact.

Overall Tony was a solid, contact hitting, base-stealing speedster.

Womack played for the Pirates, Diamondbacks, Rockies, Cubs, Cardinals, Yankees and Reds for a total of 1,303 games played in the majors. He retired with a batting average of .273 and he'd record 1,353 hits.

Bottom of the 9th, Game 7 of the World Series, what a moment.
