Cards From My Personal Collection: Sidney Ponson 2002 Topps Baseball Card

in Trading Cards!last year

These 2002 cards are pretty special to me. I've had these since I was young, got them for Christmas. I just realized, that's another reason cards are cool and super nostalgic. Cards are small and can be relatively easy to save and preserve. I'm in my late 20's and looking at this card just takes me back. I remember the border, the font and everything. I don't think I have much of anything left from that long ago in my life. Feels like an eternity.

The player on this particular card, Sidney Ponson, was not exactly an elite pro pitcher but he was average with a pretty solid season in 2003 when he went 17-12 as a starter. He did play in the league from 1998-2009 though, and so you can't be a bad player lasting that long in the MLB.

Ponson finished his career going 91-113 as a pitcher with a 5.03 ERA. He had over 1,000 strikeouts with 1,031.

This is nuts to see. Sidney really is on YouTube. This blows my mind I don't know why. This is a genuine post game interview from 2008.
