Reggie Wayne was one of the best receivers I ever watched growing up. Especially being a Titans fan. The Colts were blessed with not just one, but two tremendous receivers for a long time in Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne. Wayne was as consistent and as durable as it gets from 2001-2014. He spent his entire career with the Colts.
This card was extremely difficult to take a picture of because it's so dark but I did my best. took a second picture so the bottom portion could be read slightly easier.
Pretty good snapshot of Wayne scoring a big touchdown in the Super Bowl. Here is that very play!!
I remember this Super Bowl from eighteen years ago well. I still have the Sports Illustrated issue featuring Manning on the front after the victory. Peyton Manning has always been seen as an amazing elite quarterback, but getting this one was massive for his legacy. As Tom Brady has surpassed Manning in many respects, it is great Manning has this one directly in the middle of the 2000's. Football was still very physical, while slowly evolving. In the middle of an era of great QBs. Considering all of that, and the fact that Manning's second ring was not exactly due to his greatness as a player, this Super Bowl has aged like fine wine for Manning. Great timing for him, and the team in general.
Love seeing these stats, if I were a Colts fan I'd seriously love this card. I still do think it's great seeing this though. Great Colts team.
The big song out at the time of Manning and Wayne's first Super Bowl win was Beyonce's 'Irreplaceable'. Eighteen years. Nuts.
