The sound of her dress dragging on the ground mingled with the icy wind. I didn't want to turn around, a feeling told me I would regret it.
-Would you like to join me? -Her voice sounded sweet but with a strange echo.
I stopped in my tracks, my heart was beating uncontrollably. I didn't answer. The silence went on forever. I hurried my pace, but his presence was approaching.
When I reached home, I looked out of the corner of my eye. He was gone. I pulled out my keys and felt a cold breath on the back of my neck whispering, “Until next time...”
My body froze. I jumped inside and locked the door. I didn't sleep that night.
At dawn, I woke up thinking it was a nightmare. But when I looked in the mirror, I noticed a trail of cold fingers marked on my neck.
From then on, I never walked alone in the early morning again. And if you ever see a woman in black under a streetlight, don't look at her, don't talk to her, don't follow her. Because if you do, she may never let you go.
A shiver ran down my back as I remembered those icy fingers on my skin. The next time I see her, I fear I won't be able to escape.
