I hear you I was hoping to do the same and use it for work as well as play, and there are apps and stuff you can do for that, but the thing is you have to get used to it first and also the stock strap is trash , it hurts your head after a few minutes ,I got something more comfortable with an external battery to give it more juice but my eyes still get tired but slowly getting better, also I find the mixed reality is not the best the quality, looking through the headset your real life environment looks a bit grainy and tires your eyes out even more as it stands for your virtual office it would be best done in fully emersed vr mode with only virtual screens

Yeah I done some research before buying (odd for me I normally buy then regret). Those were the common issues stated, I feel like we're moving in the right direction with the tech though and will hopefully have something manageable in the near future. My virtual office will one day be a reality.
