Do you know that if you want to evaluate your level of productivity in a day it will depend majorly on how your previous day ended. The way you ended the last day sets a tone for the next day, also the way you begin your day will determine your level of productivity throughout the day. When you end your day the right way it will have a positive impact on your overall mood, health, sleep pattern, relationship etc.
Most times we have long stressful days at work with a lot of deadlines to meet up with before the day runs out and it can affect us in some way if certain plans didn't go as expected or if unexpected issues arise. It can be demanding to have a long work-filled day however it is also important to go through a recovery phase that would ensure that you have more productive results the next day.
One way to recover from all the rigorous and stressful day you've had at work is to lie down and do absolutely nothing. Yes, absolutely nothing. It is a way to help you relax your mind and give your body a feeling that it hasn't experienced all day long due to all the workload it has to carry out. This technique is more effective when you stay away from your gadgets, that is, no phone, no music, no movies, no reading. You can close your eyes for the few minutes as well. This will enable you stay away from every form of distractions that will not make you get the best results out of the exercise.
Another technique that you can employ to recover and recharge after the day's work is to run some water over your body. Taking a shower is a great way to loosen up and de-stress at the end of the day. Based on your choice, you can decide to use either a cold or hot water - it depends on how you want it. The key thing is that your body have the astonishing relaxing feel that comes with having a shower. The effects of the water running from your head to the toe can relieve you of all the stress that you have passed through during the day.
I have a friend who wouldn't put off her office dress and shoes until she might have finished eating when she gets back home from work. Sometimes, she go straight to the bed to lie down while still wearing her office outfits. This is a bad practice. It is more relaxing to change into a comfortable outfit after work. It can be more stressful to wear the suit and tie, or gown and heels that you have worn all day even when you get back home. It is advisable to change into a simple and free outfit once you have had a shower. Doing this makes you feel relaxed and comfortable as you try to recover the energy you used during the day.
More importantly, you need to do something you enjoy doing when you get home. So, you woke up as early as possible, left the house to get to the office before 8am, did all the work till 5pm or thereabout and now you are back home, you need to dedicate some time in the day to do some leisure. You can listen to some music, play video game, watch a movie, take a walk and so on. You'd feel more relaxed and your overall well-being will be on the best form.
Depending on your region, today's work has come to an end and as we anticipate what tomorrow have to offer we need to be relaxed and re-energized for the tasks that lie ahead of us. Therefore, you can make use of one or more of those techniques as you relax after the day's work.
