The star bridge

Alarm bells rang at the orbiting station when gravitational sensors detected a massive fluctuation in the space-time continuum.

A disturbance the size of a star system had just manifested itself just a few light years away.

Exploration probes were sent out and soon transmitted unprecedented images: an energy vortex connected our system to the star Proxima Centauri, the closest star system to Earth.

A veritable Einstein bridge had appeared out of nowhere, shortening the four light years to a single step through hyperspace.

No time was lost. A manned mission set off immediately to investigate this unprecedented phenomenon. Crossing the threshold, we found ourselves in orbit around an alien world with a breathable atmosphere.

The doors had been opened to a new realm of possibilities. For the first time in history, humanity had the means to colonise other star systems.

Messages of jubilation and disbelief spread swiftly throughout the Milky Way. We were explorers of a new dawn, the pioneers of a new interstellar era for our species.

The star bridge had changed our destiny forever.
